Birthday Card for Sister!

Hi everyone! I love the new stenciling craze and while I have jumped on the bandwagon, I don't have nearly as much time as I would like for this creative medium. I hope to remedy that very soon!

This card was made for my sister and I love the elegance created by the Tattered Angels stencil. I was almost afraid to cover it up once it was dry as it was so gorgeous but I knew it would stand out more with color! I used a blending tool and Hawaiian Shores ink creating a beautiful  ombre effect! To keep the beauty uncomplicated, I added in a simple sentiment, shiny ribbon and some sprinkled sequins. A pretty pink bloom is the finishing touch!

The inside features the same beautiful color combo and more shiny sequins. I also added in a heartfelt birthday sentiment from Papertrey Ink!

Thanks for checking out my blog! Bee Happy!!

Supplies Used:
Heidi Swapp 'Sugar Chic' designer paper

Be Amazing!

Hi everyone! Another card today that I created a while back during the Online Card Classes watercolor class! This one is so bright and beautiful, I can't believe it took me so long to post!

This was created using the technique of applying ink to an acrylic block, spritzing it with water and then pressing the block onto your watercolor paper. Of course, bright is the way to go for me so I used a variety of vibrant summery colors. This is a super fun technique and it's always interesting to se what the mixing colors will do.

Since I wanted the watercolors to stand out, I kept the rest of the card simple with a Simon Says Stamp die cut and stamped sentiment and a few black gems. Gorgeous!

I used another Simon Says Stamp image for the inside sentiment and mimicked the front sentiment in color scheme. A few more black gems add just the right amount of bling!

Art Deco Birthday!

Hi everyone! I couldn't wait to create with these gorgeous art deco stamps from Papertrey Ink  and although it took me a bit of time to get to them, it was well worth the wait!

I started with the Background Basics:Art Deco set and created a glamorous ombre background! It was so pretty that I didn't want the sentiment to cover it up so it was embossed on vellum in black in a frame of silver! This card is very girly in shades of pink and I made it even more so with a big shiny gem and playful feathers! I added even more glamour with lots of silver pearls and some stunning pins- all for a very art deco feel!

I stamped more of the fabulous art deco background on the inside and added in more silver pearls. This is such a sweet birthday sentiment from Papertrey Ink that I use quite often on my birthday creations!

Ooops!… Father's Day a bit late!

Hi everyone!  I know Father's Day was three months age… but I haven't shared the card I created for my dear old dad so I thought why not now!

Something unique about this project that I don't do very often is that there is no stamping whatsoever on this card! Of course it is so easy when you are using a great masculine paper line by Basic Grey! I used the 'Hipster' 6x6 paper pad and designer chipboard stickers for a completely 'hip' father's day card that my dad really enjoyed! I do think he is very awesome and very cool and I was glad to show my appreciation! The sentiment on the front was typed on my mac and then printed out in an orange to coordinate with the designer paper. I added in a few wooden stars by Studio Calico

Another printed sentiment on the inside in nice big block letters along with more of the fab 'Hipster' papers. I added in a few more wooden stars and a very sweet message to my dad!

Watercolor Birthday Quilt!

Hi everyone! I am back posting after a brief hiatus and it feels good! I have some cards to share over the next few weeks that were created a little while ago but that I am just getting around to posting!

Todays card is one that I created after I took the watercolor class at Online Card Classes from which I learned so many new things! This background stamp from Hero Arts was one of the featured stamps and I just had to have it! I  embossed it in white and then simply added a tiny bit of distress marker to the colored areas and used a water pen to pull out the color to fill in the remaining area! Sometimes watercoloring can be a little time consuming but it is oh so worth it! I layered this 'quilt' over some pretty MME papers and added in a gorgeous velvet flower from Maya Road!

The inside is simple with a sweet birthday sentiment stamped in purple ink. I embellished the inside with a few more purple rain dots and left lots of space to write in a special message!

Bristol Smooth Surface paper
My Mind;s Eye 6x6 paper pad 'A Beautiful Life'

TE Selfie!

Hi everyone! I am just popping in quickly to share the card I am entering into the Taylored Expressions  Sketch Selfie Share contest. They are giving away a $250 gift certificate to the store and all you have to do is create a card inspired by the sketch, take a selfie and give the card away. Easy peasy!

I created a birthday card for my very special Grandma who will be turning 96 in a couple of weeks! She is an amazing lady and I wanted something very elegant and beautiful. I don't have much in the way of TE stamps but I do have some cutting plates and they are gorgeous! I used the TE Proud Peacock cutting plate and paper pieced in some of the sections for more interest. All of the deigned paper is Teresa Collins Carolina Breeze in cheerful shades of yellows and grays. I followed the sketch pretty closely and then added in some tiny TE Tiny Twinkles.

Of course I had to take a selfie of me holding the card and of course I am to wearing make-up or my contacts. Please don't look too closely, haha!
