Teachers Pets!

Hey everybody!  This is kind of a weird time to post a blog but I wanted to get my entry in for the My Favorite Things Guest Designer before the deadline and tonight seemed like the perfect time.

The challenge this month was 'Be a Teachers Pet'.  Right away I knew I would be making a gift for my friend Jamie who is an elementary school teacher.  I decided on a printers tray so I could show off pictures of her cat and dog, both of whom she loves dearly.

The printers tray is from 7 Gypsies and all of the stamp images are MFT Pure Innocence cuties.  I used the Puppy Girl, Purrfect and Splish Splash.  All of the sentiments are from those sets and Clearly Sentimental About Pets.  I love coloring these kids because they are so darn cute and have so much personality.  The cat and dog are pretty cute too:)

All of the paper is from Echo Park 'Summer Days' collection.  I thought these bright pastels would be perfect for this project.  Plus, there are so many fantastic patterns in this collection and they all go together just beautifully.  I used quite a few MFT Die-namics in this project including the sweet little pet charms that coordinate with these stamps.  I also used mini rolled roses, fancy flourish, fishtail stax, mini and oval doilies and lots of banners, tabs and borders.  It was so much fun to layer them all together.

I used a lot of embellishments!  The more the better I say.  Gems, pearls, buttons, twine and some ribbon all added to this pretty project.

The letters on the sides were cut with my Cricut and the Plantin School cartridge.  I would have used Die-namics By the Letter but I don't have them....yet!

All in all, I really love how this tray turned out and I know my friend is going to love it.  It will look fantastic hanging in her classroom and she and her students will all get a lot of joy from it.

I included all of the pictures so you could see a lot more of the individual sections.  I apologize for the really long post but I hope you enjoyed looking at my creative gift!!

Let's Get Together

Hi everyone.  Happy, happy Friday!  Saturday is my favorite day of the week so of course I always enjoy when Friday rolls around.  Also, it's time for another My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club. It was a cute sketch this week and fun to design.
I wanted to use this new  a la modes stamp, Martinis on Me, from My Favorite Things and thought it would go great with a nice spring green.  I used a combo of papers from Stampin Up! Designer Series In Color and some black and white prints from The Paper Studio.  This color combo is one of my favorites!

I colored this party girl with Copic Markers and filled in her glass with Diamond Accents.  I also added a mini doily in black glitter paper underneath the vibrant Loopy Bloom.

The finishing touches were some bright green ribbon and some Hero Arts gems for a little bling.

The inside is done in the same papers and color combo with a cute little sentiment also from the Martinis on Me set.

Hi everyone!  Since Mother's day is getting closer, I thought I had better start making cards for all the dear and wonderful women in my life.  I am also using this opportunity to enter into the Kraftin' Kimmie Saturday Challenge.

This week the challenge was based on this sketch.  I changed it up a bit because I wanted to use Brigette and she didn't quite fit in a circle.  All of the designer papers here are from the Lost and Found Blush 6x6 paper pad from My Mind's Eye.  I wanted to make this card sweet and girly and these papers do the job perfectly!

The oval was cut with MFT Dienamics Oval Stax and then I cut one size smaller and used that as a mask so I could color around the edges of the oval.   The roses, leaves and flourish  are also MFT Dienamics and the tag die is from Verve.

This sentiment is perfect for Mother's Day because we all want our moms to feel pampered although I don't know too many ladies who have the time to soak in a bubble bath.  We can always dream though!

On the inside of the card I kept the same block and scallop theme and the same designer paper. I just added a corner MFT Dienamic and a pink pearl.  All that is left to do is write a special message inside.

Treasure

Hello everyone.  I hope you all had a great weekend.  Mine was super busy but filled with fun and laughter!  I waited until the very end of the weekend to make this card.  Whew! So glad I got it done. This is for the Mojo Monday 237 challenge.  This was a challenging sketch for me and a lot of things changed as I went along.  Here's what I finally ended up with.  The sketch is below.  Also, I want to give a shout-out out to my beautiful daughter who revamped my blog and designed my new header and buttons- so cute!  I love it.  Thank you Hannah. I love you too:)

I decided I wanted to emboss on black and I tried a few different color combos and I liked the pink the best.  It also went well with the designer paper I had picked out for the project- Basic Grey's 'Out of Print'.  As this is Mojo Monday, I also wanted to use Verve stamps and these cute flowers fit the ticket! The flowers and the sentiment are from 'Sunny Days' and I embossed the flowers with melon mambo powder from Stampin Up!  I wanted a little ribbon so I added this green one from Caramelos Shop at Etsy.com.

The inside has the same color scheme as the front and the sentiment is also from Verve.  It is from the 'Making a Statement' set.  I am kind of disappointed in the pictures.  I took them over and over and could not get the colors quite right.  Could be because the light is funny at this time of the day:)

Lil' Cowboy!

It's time for another My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club and for today I have a cute little buckaroo to show you!

This is for the MFTWSC68.  I changed up the sketch a little bit to fit my design and didn't use a traditional border, instead I used all the Die-namics country charms.  I wanted to put as much 'cowboy' into this card as possible.

This Pure Innocence Cowboy is so darling and I had a lot of fun coloring him and paper piecing together his outfit.  I used the October Afternoon 'Sasparilla' designer papers since they fit so perfectly well and I also used some canvas from Archivers for that extra country touch.

This cutie was colored with Copic markers.  I was having some trouble with his chaps but I think they turned out great.  The sentiment is also from the Pure Innocence Cowboy stamp set and I used my new fishtail banner stax (yay!) from My Favorite Things.

For the inside I used more of the October Afternoon 'Sasparilla' paper and more fishtail banner stax. The buttons I used are from Foof-fa-la and are tied with some Jillibean Soup red and white twine. That's it for my card today.

Magic in the Air!

Hello everyone!  A new card to share- this one is for the Kraftin Kimmie Saturday Challenge #124.  The challenge was based on the picture below from a Pier One catalog.  I had not inked up Rosabelle so I thought this would be the perfect time.

I have been wanting to do a red and turquoise card for some time now so I was excited for this challenge.  I also got to use my new Konnichiwa 6x6 paper pad from Basic Grey!

I stamped the image and the sentiment in Memento Rich Cocoa and then colored cute little Rosabelle with Copic markers.  The grass and stems were cut using my Cricut. I embellished the card with these darling turquoise flowers from Caramelos at Etsy.com and added a few more gems for a little bling.  There are also parts of the card that are glittered but it is a little hard to see in the picture.

The inside features another Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment and the Konnichiwa paper.  I left a small space for a personal message.

Dreams

Graduations are right around the corner so I thought I would use this opportunity to make a graduation card AND enter it into the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  This was another great sketch that let me use a lot of different patterned paper.  I love that!

All of the solid papers are Bazzil and the designer paper is 'Carolina Breeze' by Teresa Collins. This paper collection is full of beautiful designs and the color combos are fantastic.

From MFT Stamps, I used a vertical greetings sentiment and the Die-namics monarch and mini monarch borders.  This sentiment is perfect for a new graduate.  I wanted to add a little more 'oomph' so I added some Colorbok metallic accents and a tiny tissue flower from Lucky Girl Goods at Etsy.com.

For the inside I added some more of this gorgeous paper and another sentiment from the MFT Stamps Big Greetings collection.  A few pearls were the finishing touch!

Sweet Thoughts

I made this card today for a very special person in my life that received some very disappointing news today.  She has been having a rough time lately and I wanted to let her know I am thinking about her and that things will get better.  I hope this card will brighten her day and her outlook.

I am also using this card for Mojo Monday 236.  Above is the sketch.  The sketch seems very simple but I really like the layout.  It let me showcase the beautiful 6x6 paper -'Sugar Chic'- by Heidi Swapp.  There were so many cute papers in this collection that I had a hard time choosing.

From Verve Stamps I used the Rounded Scallop frame die and put it around this sweet sentiment from the 'Words of Wisdom' set.  All of the panels were stitched together and I added a sparkly pink ribbon from Caramelos Shop at Etsy.comhttp://www.etsy.com/.  The raised flowers were cut from some of the same paper collection.  Some liquid pearls and two pink crystal candy dots complete the front of the card.

I kept the inside pretty plain because I am going to write something special inside.  I used the same paper collection and scalloped one piece.  Again, stitched them all together and the inside was finished.  I will be putting this in the mail soon in hopes that it brings a smile to a very important person.

Welcome Twins!

Hi everyone!  My aunt called me last week and asked me to make a card for her.  Of course, I love making cards and so I gladly agreed.  She has a friend that just recently gave birth to twin girls!  How sweet.  I am honored that one of my creations will help to welcome these baby girls.

I decided to make a tri fold card since I wanted it to tie together in the middle with ribbon.  I had a great time making this card and I think it turned out beautifully.  I used a mixture of papers (all pink and white of course) and lots of ribbon and flowers.  I painted some Stampin Up! chipboard flowers and hearts with acrylic paint and then sprayed them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in pearl.  I am not sure you can see the sparkle in the pictures.

Here is a picture of the card slightly open.  The onesies and the bird cage were all cut with my Cricut using the 'Straight From The Nest' cartridge.  I cut the banners for the outside sentiment with the Die-namics Fishtail Stax from My Favorite Things.  I added lots of Hero Arts pearls and a few gems.  There is a clear pink Bazzil button threaded with twine in the center of the crochet flower.

This is the inside of the card with the flaps open.  I searched the internet for a cute sentiment about twins since I didn't have a stamp.  I found this cute one and printed it on my computer.  I added some more painted chipboard pieces and a couple of gems.  Cute!

Making a Splash!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  This bright and cheery card is my entry for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  I think the layout of this week's sketch is fantastic and I had so much fun coloring this image.  Below is the sketch for the week.

The image, raindrops and the sentiments are all stamps from My Favorite Things- Who's that Girl 'Puddle Jumper'.  I stamped the image in Memento Ink and colored it in with Copics and the sentiments are stamped in 'Peach Parfait' from Stampin Up!  The bright paper is all from My Mind's Eye- the 'On The Bright Side' collection and the stickpin is also from MME.  A cabbage ribbon bow (Prairie Bird Boutique- Etsy.com), a button from Stampin Up! and some red twine from Jillibean Soup are the finishing touches.  I also added Diamond Glaze to her buttons and the puddle.  Cute!

On the inside I cut some fishtail banners and stacked them.  I am still waiting on my new fishtail Stax to be delivered from My Favorite Things so I had to make my own:).  I added another sentiment and stitched around the edges.

That's it for today.  Hope you enjoyed my card! Thanks for checking out my blog!
