Happy Haunts!

Hi everyone! Still needing some Halloween cards for your favorite goblins and ghouls? Use a fabulous paper collection like this Simple Stories 'Simple Vintage Halloween' and make super cute cards in no time at all!

I started these cards by choosing some of the awesome paper for the backgrounds. There are so many great patterns to choose from and they all coordinate so wonderfully together! On top of that I layered on lots of the the adorable and spooky 'Bits & Pieces' together' with the stickers and chipboard of the collection.

Using  foam adhesive behind some of the pieces allowed me to stack them and give the cards great dimension! It also allowed me a bit of space to add in some shiny sequins and small stickers. All in all these cards have great details and will make someone's holiday very special!

Wedding Bliss!

Hi everyone! The wedding season is winding down but I have another gorgeous mini album to share! This sweet little scrapbook was made for a beautiful young lady that I have known for many years. I don't know how it's possible that she gets older and I stay the same age???! Hehe...

The paper collection I used for this album is an older one from Echo Park Paper Co. but the colors fit her Fall wedding perfectly and you can never go wrong with paper from Echo Park! Plus there are gold foil accents throughout which really highlight the lovely patterns!

This album, that flips at the top, is made of varying shapes of chipboard and each page is a different size. Here you can see all the fronts of the pages and how wonderful the patterned paper coordinates together!

The backs of the pages look awesome too! I layered in lots of stickers with the sweet sentiments and some gold accents of my own as well! I am loving the silhouette of that car- so cute!

Wedding albums are always such a joy to make! I love helping a new couple remember their happy day I know the bride and groom will have a great time adding their wedding photos to this mini album! Be sure and see the video on YouTube!

Fright Night Mini Album!

Hi everyone! I have more adorable Simple Stories Halloween goodies to share with you today! This Simple Vintage Halloween paper collection was so full of amazing art and details that I had to continue creating with it!

Of course I could not pass up making a mini album (love!) and I took inspiration from the super talented Bea Valint at myshinystudio.blogspot.com and made this simple but oh so fabulous, folded mini album! I added in an extra fold and a cute interactive piece to the album as well as keeping the flip pages on one side!

All of the patterned paper in this collection is amazing and coordinates so well together that I hd no problems mixing them together! The interactive fold-out was cut from the 3x4 journal cards and simply scored before adhering to the extra fold in the album. I also added in a double pocket that hold a couple of adorable tags!

The flip photo section was made using the 4x6 journal cards which feature the best vintage images that remind me so much of my childhood Halloweens! I adorned each page with a tab as well as lots more of the Bits & Pieces and stickers for a wonderful layered look! There are 8 fabulous pages in all as well as space at the back for more photos and mementos!

Make this super cute folded mini today and have it all ready for your holiday photos! Have a happy and safe Halloween! Be sure and check out my YouTube video to see all of this wonderful details of this mini!

Spooky Good Banner!

Hi everyone! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to decorate and craft for. I love the rich color combos, the spookiness and the fact that everyone young and old love this festive day! The treats aren't too bad either!

For this project I wanted to combine my love of treats into a decoration and this hanging banner definitely fits the bill!  The 'Simple Vintage Halloween' paper collection from Simple Stories is full of traditional blacks and oranges in amazing designs and the chipboard, ephemera and stickers are cute, quirky and super fun!

Using the amazing patterned papers as the base of my banner, I cut three different backgrounds for my banner flags. I then created pockets for each flag from card stock and topped those with more fun patterned paper or a 4x6 journal card. The pockets themselves are large enough to hold a good amount of holiday treats and a small decoration!

A big variety of the Bits & Pieces, chipboard stickers and word stickers were layered over the top of the pockets adding lots of fabulous visual details! To accent each pocket a bit more, I used strips of the matching washi tapes too!

To hang this jolly banner I used a dowel rod that was cut to size and covered in more washi tape with a strip of ribbon adhered to both ends. I then embellished the banner with  lots of paper curls and more stickers for a jolly look!

Mixed Media Fun!

Hi everyone! I don't have a messy card making style. I use a lot of color but it's all die-cutting and stamping with a bit of painting thrown in for good measure. This last weekend I attended the Ready, Set, Create event in California and got messy with Vicki Boutin!

Vicki is all about mixed media- paints, colors, water, stencils and it was so much fun! We created three fabulous backgrounds that were intended for 12x12 layouts. However, I took one of the backgrounds that was done in pretty shades of pink, green and yellow, and used it to make some beautiful cards using the 'Field Notes' paper collection!

The backgrounds were created with a mix of wet and dry art crayons and stencils in two of the color combos. Then I layered pieces of the patterned papers along with some of the ephemera icons and thickers in interesting mixes on top of the background. So pretty!

This was only one of the awesome backgrounds I created in the class! I can't wait to show you what I have in store for the others! Make sure you check back to see my fabulous projects!
