2017 Monthly Mini: March!

Hi everyone! It's the end of the month and time again for another super cute mini scrapbook! I dug deep down in my stash and found this gorgeous My Mind's Eye paper collection and all of it's goodies and knew that I had to use it!

And, in the spirit of using up my hoard stash, I also pulled out these old but still adorable Maya Road kraft envelopes and decided to create the mini out of them! I cut a 5 inch piece of the pretty patterned paper and scored it every half inch to create folds to hold 6 pockets of varying sizes and then glued my envelopes in. The fun part was definitely decorating and embellishing the outsides of the 'pockets'. I left room for photos and added in some of the adorable stickers and chipboard embellishments too!

I did not forget the insides of these cute pockets! I created an insert for each using the patterned paper and some of the 3x4 cards in the collection. Some of the inserts are for photos and some show off the charming sentiments of this fabulous collection! Below are photos of the front and back sides of the inserts!

The book measures 5x5 inches and will hold lots of great photos or memorabilia.  I attached a golden yellow ribbon to tie it closed and keep all of the memories tucked inside! Please watch the short video so you can see all of the fabulous pages of this adorable mini album!

Amazing You!

Hi everyone! I cannot get enough of Wink of Stella these days! It seems as if I am putting it on every card I make. But glitter makes everything better right?!

This fabulous little dress from the Carta Bella 'Gorgeous Girl' stamp set is pretty but looks even better with a touch of shine! I stamped the image first in pink, then stamped just the bottom half of the dress again in red and off to the side a bit for a layered effect.  I wanted silver accents on this card, so I used a Versa mark embossing pen and added dots on the dress and outlined the hanger before embossing with shiny silver powder. I also added in a few embossed starbursts in silver as well and topped those off with sparkly black gems!

To make the front a little more dramatic, I edged the white panel in large scallops and layered it over some pretty black background paper from the 'Metropolitan Girl' 6x6 paper pad. A tiny red ribbon at the bottom of the card adds a touch of sweetness and the Wink of Stella glitter really makes it shine!

Howdy!

Hi everyone! I was playing around with these Paper Smooches Paisley dies the other day, thinking I would do an all white card when I suddenly got the idea to do a western/bandana inspired card! This also happens to be one of my favorite color combos!

Since I already had the white paisleys cut, it was easy to change a few things and add in red and black. After cutting the outside paisley shapes again out of red card stock, I simply backed the open spaces in black and then overlayed the white die cuts. So striking!

To keep the western feel, I die cut the letters to spell out 'howdy' in white and black. For a bit of extra flair I used a bandana print stamp to cover a portion of the white letters and then layered them for a shadow effect. I felt the card need just a bit of shine, so I added in black pearls in varying sizes. A super cute card and a fun way to say hello!

Happy For You!

Hi everyone! There is a new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog  so I thought I would join in! The challenge is to use more than one die cut or punch and since I use a ton of die cuts on my cards, I knew this would be easy!

I wanted to keep my card clean and simple so I stuck to just two different shapes of die cuts. First up is the beautiful flower die cut from Concord & 9th. I cut it first in white card stock and then filled in the flower shape with two shades of yellow. Finally, I die cut the flower shape again in green and overlayed it over the original flower.

For the sentiment, I used a simple fishtail flag die and cut two sizes. Keeping with my Spring-y color scheme, I stamped the sentiment in green on white card stock and then layered that over a green fishtail flag.

For some texture in the background, I dry embossed tiny swiss dots onto more white card stock. The flower frame was mounted onto this and then layered onto some yellow and then the white card base. A sweet bow and some clear yellow sequins add just a bit of shine to the card!

Nautical Stripes!

Hi everyone! I am the guest star stamper for this week's Color Throwdown Challenge #435! Yay! This week I was inspired by not only the colors of the challenge but also the inspiration picture with it's nautical theme.

I zeroed in on the striped jacket and since I was already thinking nautical, I decided to go with large turquoise stripes as my main color! I watercolored the stripes in a pale turquoise and then went over them again with Prima Metallic Accents watercolors for a beautiful shine!

The sailboat sections were watercolored in the same fashion and then paper pieced together. I chose a darker shade of turquoise for the boat and bright orange and yellow for the sails. The tiny anchor is also watercolored and then stamped before I layered it over the sailboat. You may not see it in the pictures, but there is a gorgeous sheen on the entire card!

The sentiment is stamped in black so it really stands out and I added some iridescent crystal sequins for even more sparkle! I mounted the watercolor panel onto some pretty coral card stock and then both of those onto a bright turquoise base. For my last yellow accent, I added in gold thread tied in a knot!
