Dressed Up Wine Bottles!

Hi all! I wonder if wine is the most commonly given hostess or host gift?  I'm sure there is a statistic out there somewhere- I just have to look it up.  In any case, wine is a wonderful gift to give especially if you will be sharing with the recipient! I took this hostess gift a bit further and gave them some fancy outerwear!

So today I have for you wine bottles three ways-  Wine a la wrap, Wine a la tag and Wine Surprise! Ha, can you tell I watch a lot of Top Chef! 

An adorable wine wrap I created by layering beautiful Bo Bunny 'Autumn Song' paper with a die cut label and flourish along with a cute bingo card and the ever adorable fox from Simon Says Stamp. This is simply wrapped around the bottle and glued to itself so the original label stays intact.

Here is that sweet fox and you can see some gold peeking out around the bottom of the wrap as well as some of the leaves on the tree

For something a bit more elegant, I covered a hanging label with gorgeously cascading Fall leaves.  Touches of gold on the embossed background and some of the leaves add to it's beauty. It's topped off with a big paper bow!

This wine bag was super simple to sew with muslin and a bit of lining.  I added a sweet decorative trim and some zig zag stitching that would show when I folded the top down. The polka dots, pumpkins and sentiment were all stamped in Staz On ink and I then added a tag with a rosette, gorgeous brown ribbons and a good smelling cinnamon stick!

MIM- Ink Pad designs!

Hi everyone!  A quick post and a few pictures to show what I created for the current Make It Monday challenge over at Papertrey Ink. The challenge is to use an ink pad directly on your card stock for a pattern. Sounds easy right? Well it took me a few times to get it right:)

I decided to go with an ombre look but after 'coloring' it the first time, I felt it looked a bit plain so I took a new piece of card stock and stamped the images of the Mehndi Medallions and then again created the ombre effect by rubbing the pad directly onto the paper.  I still wasn't satisfied so I spritzed the whole thing with water and achieved this watercolor ombre effect! Finally! To finish this baby, I added a stamped die cut, a shiny bow and a few pearls.

Here is a close up of the medallion behind the rubbed on ink. I was afraid it would really smear with the spritzed water but it still looks beautiful!

Gorgeous Leaves Are Falling....

 Hi everyone! As I talked about in my last post, I have been crafting up a storm using some new supplies I got recently.  The show stoppers for today are the 'Stitched Leaves' dies by Lawn Fawn. Oh why did I wait so long to buy leaf dies... these make my heart sing and they add the perfect touch of simple beauty to any project!

I was wasting time perusing Pinterest the other day and saw a leaf garland that a talented person had created using real leaves. Well of course I had to create my own using my favorite medium- paper! I just love to layer patterns and shapes and came up with this gorgeous Fall banner. Can't wait to show this baby off on Thanksgiving! I am also entering this into the Simon Monday Challenge: Patchwork!

I got to pull lots of older papers out of my 'stash' including some from Stampin Up! and The Paper Studio and also used brand new paper from Bo Bunny's 'Autumn Song'. 

I created interesting layers with doilies, tags and some rosettes.  There are a lot of different shapes and sizes of the leaf dies and hopefully I have represented them well!

This is a tag die and stamp from Papertrey Ink which conveys exactly how I feel about my family. One of my favorite quotes: 'A family is like fudge- mostly sweet with a few nuts' Ha ha, so true!

Love the mix of patterns here along with the brightly colored leaves.

Sweet Fall...

Hi all! I received some new Fall supplies in the mail recently and then had a bit of a panic attack because it was already November and I hadn't crafted anything with them yet and I knew I had to start posting my Christmas creations..... Oh boy! So I sat down with said supplies and pulled a few other items out of my craft drawers and began crafting. And almost didn't quit:) In fact, I didn't watch any Sunday football as I was so busy in my craft room! You will be pleased to know I used the heck out of these supplies and below is the first of many adorable creations. 

All of the stamps in this Lawn Fawn 'Into the Woods' set are so cute I knew I wanted them to take front and center on a set of note cards. I kept the supplies I used to a minimum and gave all of the cards a uniform look by using the same colors and giving them each a touch of gold. I won't bore you with the details but instead show you these little cuties in all of their glory! I am entering these into the Lawnscaping challenge #69: Let the sentiment stand out!

 

 

There you have it! All packaged up and ready to give as a sweet gift! This would be perfect for a hostess gift for all of the holiday parties coming up!
