Cookies And Cocoa Party!

Hi everyone! Today is National Cocoa Day- time to celebrate your favorite warm drink! I took it a step further and created a whole party set-up with the Simple Stories 'Oh What Fun' paper collection! This collection is perfect for sweet holiday parties with its playful vibe and fun and festive colors!

It is so much fun in fact, that I felt like I could just go on and on making party elements! Of course I had to start with some fun paper mugs decked out in the colorful decorative papers and filled to the brim with yummy hot chocolate and marshmallows! I also dressed up a tiny mason jar with some paper curls and one of the fab stickers from the collection!

Christmas cookies are a must for a holiday party so after I decorated these goodies, I figured they needed extra cute packaging. I used some clear acetate boxes and dressed them up with patterned papers and a couple of the 3x4 journaling cards. I added in details like scalloped borders and tags accented with the collection stickers!

In case you're not a fan of warm cocoa, there is always the goodness of milk! These milk bottles are so adorable wrapped in the patterned paper! Each has a charming character on the front highlighted with more of the cute stickers! I also added a small circle tag complete with a festive jingle bell! For the cupcake toppers, I used the large sentiment stickers on top of rosettes. Each also has a smaller rosette and a tiny snowflake sticker!

You can never have too many sweets at a party and these mini treat holders look amazing in the super fun prints! These were cut with a Silhouette file and stand about 4 inches tall- the perfect size to fill with sweet goodies! They really show off the lovely array of stickers in the collection and all of the festive patterns of paper that mix so well together!

I'm off to celebrate all of this paper goodness with a fun cocoa party!

Happy Independence Day!

Hi everyone! Are you all gearing up for a fun weekend filled with family, food and fireworks? The Fourth of July is a favorite holiday of mine because it always seems to involve those three very important things! Plus, it's almost always hot which is my favorite kind of weather!

Since food is on the list, I could not pass up an opportunity to make some fun red, white and blue cookies. I adore this color combo not just because it signifies our country's independence but mostly because it's bright and eye-catching!

Of course, I went a little overboard and made lots but that way I had plenty to send some to family not celebrating with us and lots to give away! Plus this way my husband doesn't just get all of the rejects!

Some fun and iconic Uncle Sam hats for the big day!

Fireworks and candy are definite must-haves!

And who can resist a big bowl of patriotic stars! So pretty AND yummy!

May you all have a happy and safe, fun and food and fireworks filled Fourth of July!

Wedding Flowers!

Hi everyone! This past weekend we celebrated my sisters wedding and it was such a beautiful day! I just love weddings because they are such a happy occasion with everyone dressed up and smiling and there is always good food and wedding cake! I even added in some extra touches to the wedding with tags for the mason jar drink glasses and with these pretty and oh so tasty cookies!

My sister loves these cookies so how could I not make some for the wedding! We added these to the cake table and along with the gorgeous flowers, they made such a beautiful picture! The coral and white colors were in perfect harmony with everything else!

I use a simple sugar cookie recipe and then decorate them with royal icing. It is always so much fun coming up with all of the designs! Bakeat350.blogspot.com has some great recipes and super cute cookie designs!

These cookies may look difficult to decorate but they are actually very easy. I encourage everyone to give it a try! I plan on posting more of my decorated cookies here in the very near future!
