Oh Lemons!

Hi everyone! It's Tara (@secretbees_studio). Oh my word! The Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection is so lavish and exquisite that I guarantee, anything you create with it will be beautiful! The colors and images are rich and elegant and the patterns and embellishments combine together so well.

To show off this collection, I created a tri-fold mini album with lots of interactive elements! The cover of the album features one of the gorgeous patterned papers of the collection and I couldn't hold back with the embellishments! I layered on a fabulous chipboard frame over stunning floral bits, added in some stickers and topped it all off with decorative brads and beautiful bees! 

Flip open the cover and the first page features a pull-out of some 3x4 journal cards and more dazzling pieces of the collection. This section then flips open to another sublime journaling page and a big pocket that holds lots of goodies! There is a vellum envelope stuffed with extra embellishments, a chipboard frame from the collection that is ready for some photos and lastly a flip book, made from the journal elements, that works for photos or journaling! 

The last and largest section of the album starts with a chipboard cover that is decorated in another charming patterned paper design and is topped off with a lovely chipboard frame that is popped up so a photo can easily be slipped into it! Underneath is a series of photo flips made with the 4x6 journal cards! I highlighted each of the backs of the journal cards with stickers and sentiments and finished off the section with a double frame that is also photo ready!

The album closes easily but I added a decorative band that wraps around it for a bit of extra design. It is embellished with an adorable layered sticker, a chipboard heart and a sweet decorative brad.The final flourish is a dangling charm made with the tags, stickers and decorative brads of this splendid and loaded collection. Happiness Is Craftiness!

Hi everyone! The new 'Let's Get Crafty' collection is so inspiring! I wanted to make ALL the things when I opened the paper and ephemera packs and saw how adorable everything was. Then I had a brilliant idea to make a sweet tote filled with all of this cuteness to give to someone in need of some crafty supplies!

The tote itself is made from chipboard that is covered and layered with the awesome patterned paper designs of the collection. It measures 6 inches wide by 4 inches tall and 3.5 inches deep although it is a bit narrower at the bottom. There is also a handle to carry it with which is also divides the tote into two sections.

Inside are supplies to create several cards, tags and even a small mini album. The pages of the mini are held together with small discs so the order can easily be changed and are ready for pictures and embellishments!

There are three small pockets on this tote that hold extra journal cards, tags and stickers, as well as one large close-able pocket. Each of these are embellished with the charming stickers, journal bits, chipboard, brads and enamel dots of the collection. 

On the other end of the tote, I attached some small paper rings that can hold small pens or markers and even a sequin filled tube! I attached a tag to the handle of the tote and layered it with more adorable embellishments!

I can't wait to give this tote to a crafty friend if I can bear to part with it- it is so darn cute! I hope this inspires you to make one for a friend or even yourself!

Family Circle!

Hi everyone! It's 'Ways To Work It Wednesday' and it's all about circles over on the Traci Reed Designs Blog! I loved this prompt of 'Circles' for the Ways To Work It Wednesday! Who knew that so simple a shape could make such an adorable mini album! 

My family recently got together to celebrate and we took the opportunity to take generations photos which were perfect for a 'Family Circle' theme!

I decided to use as many circle shapes as I could in the making of this mini album, so I chose the 'Beginnings and Endings' collection to work with since it has a huge selection of circle shaped embellishments. I altered one of these circle embellishments for the front cover and then added  a sweet sentiment to the center. 

Each circle shaped page of the album features mostly circle embellishments and the whole album, which is hinged on a decorative brad, opens up to a circular shape. The album is decorated even more with some circle shaped dangling charms and round beads. Too cute!
