2015 Retrospective!

Hi everyone!  We are coming to the end of another crafty year and, as my fellow crafters and bloggers  understand, a LOT of work and preparation goes into these little blog posts! I decided to take a trip back through the entire year and give myself a pat on the back for all of my hard work and for some really cute creations if I do say so myself! Enjoy my trip down 2015's memory lane and check out my favorite project for each month!

January 2015 - Songbird Birthday!

A birthday card that is bright and colorful with a mix of patterns! It's also NOT an A4 card and I like that!

February 2015- Note Card Goodies!

A berry basket gift stuffed with a beautiful collection of note cards and sweets!

March 2015- Hipster Mini!

One of my favorite minis of all times! This one was made with paint sample cards and one of my favorite paper companies- Basic Grey!

April 2015- Softened Cards!

All of these bright designs were covered with vellum for a softer look! Such an easy but beautiful design transformation!

This adorable banner was inspired by my love of Mexico and it's handcrafted pottery!

June 2015- Filled With Joy!

Bright and colorful is my usual go-to but neutrals and soft colors can be gorgeous too!

July 2015- Lovely Succulents!

Two beautiful cards created with one stamp and two techniques! Both fabulous!

August 2015- Las Caletas Mini!

Another mini scrapbook filled with happy memories of a family trip to Mexico!

September 2015- Playing With Paint!

Have I said I LOVE color! This card combines my love of color and sparkle!

October 2015- Something Wicked Mini!

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays to craft for and orange and black never get old in my book!

November 2015- Gratitude Basket!

Such a wonderful way to show your appreciation for the special people in your life!

December 2015- Felt Ornaments!

These little cuties may take some time to create but they're so stinking' adorable that the time (and the needle pricks) are worth it!

Thanks for joining me for my crafty trip through 2015! Please visit me next year to see what wonderful creations I come up with in the new year!

Monthly Mini: December!

Hi everyone! This is my final installment of the 2015 Monthly Mini series! Yay! It has been so rewarding to complete at least one mini per month and to use up the extravagant amount of paper, embellishments and kits in my stash. I hope to continue this series for 2016 since minis are one of my favorite things!

I have had this Simple Stories Cozy Christmas 12x12 Collection Kit since last year and in the spirit of not hoarding, decided to put it to good use! All of this fabulous wintry, holiday paper and embellishments combined with an awesome Teresa Collins flip album made for a super cute Christmas album!

The cover of this 6 inch book is layered with some of the beautiful green and red papers along with charming stickers, chipboard and brads from the collection. I also added in a festive red bow!

I love to add in pockets for my minis to hold extra photos and mementos! This pocket highlights the gold in the collection and features more fab stickers!

The perfect page for a favorite family Christmas photo!

A lot of the papers were so pretty on their own they just needed a few sparkles to really make them shine! I added in the wonderful sentiment stickers as much as I could!

Lots of fun brads highlight these two pages along with more of the fabulous papers! Colorful enamel dots add just the right touch too!

More heart warming stickers and brads and more of the sweet sentiment stickers!

A festive Christmas tree and some star stickers are all that's needed on this beautiful paper!

Lots of snowflakes for the last page! Love this sentiment stacked Christmas tree!

That's it for my final mini of the year! Hope you have enjoyed this series and that it has inspired you to create your own little treasures! Visit me next year for more fabulous minis! Wishing you all a very merry Christmas with your loved ones!

Fun Ornament Decor!

Hi everyone! This post was supposed to be up a while ago but I had a tiny  (but not really) mishap that totally set my Christmas projects back! About a week ago I reached down to scratch my leg and hit my finger on a small metal star on the boot I was wearing. The edge of the metal slipped under my fingernail and hurt, and I cursed and then promptly forget about it. The next day, however, I knew it was not a simple contusion and things only got worse from there and my hand has been pretty much out of commission since.  It is on the mend now so I can start up again with my craftiness!

Anyhoo, back to this adorable project! Felt ornaments are all the rage and I have been wanting to make some for  a while. I used a few different metal dies to cut these cuties out and embellish! It was so much fun to mix and match the colors and then add all of the goodies! The frame, from Michaels Studio Decor line, is perfect for a sweet holiday display with tiny sweets tucked in!

I sewed tiny pockets on the back of all of the ornaments except the snowflakes- they are there just to look pretty! These pockets can be filled with sweets or even small gifts.  It would also be great as an advent calendar for the final twelve days leading up to Christmas!

The stocking die is from Memory Crafts and has holes already in place for quick and easy sewing! I did a lot of hand sewing to apply shiny embellishments!

Such fun and bright colors that are perfect for Christmas! I can see how these ornaments become treasured heirlooms!

Simple embroidery adds a sweet touch to already cute adornments! You don't even need special sewing skills to make these look beautiful!

Hope this inspires you to create some felt ornaments of your own. They can be used for decor, to decorate a tree or as an adorable gift topper! After all of this typing, I am off to take some Advil for my finger and give it a little break!
