Chicken Soup

I made this card for my grandma in Oklahoma who is not feeling so great right now.  She hurt her back so I hope this cute little card will cheer her up!  I am also submitting this card for my Mojo Monday creation.  I used Bazzil colored paper for the card and tags and SU whisper white for the tags.  I cut everything, except the hang tag (SU) with my Cricut Imagine, used a large sentiment stamp from Hero Arts and a small sentiment from SU,  a bitty background stamp from SU and the chicken soup stamp is from The Cats Pajamas.  I colored the soup bowl with copic markers and gave the chicken a little glitter and added some craft store ribbon.  I love the colors because they are so bright and cheery.  Have to run this to the post office as soon as I finish my blog post and before the rain gets here!  Hope you all have a great week!

Bright Friday!

A quick blog post before I head to camping for the weekend.  This is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and I think little 'Dahlia' turned out so sweet.  This is a square card and I used Fancy Pants paper 'It's the little things' collection in Gerber Daisy and the yellow is Bazzil.  I stamped Dahlia and the sentiment, both from the Greeting Farm (great stamps!), on cryogen white from the Paper Temptress and the background stamp under the sentiment is from the American Crafts bouquet collection. The corners are puched with a fiskars lace punch and the black strip with an ek punch.  The squares and circles are all from the gypsy wanderings cartridge and cut out with my new Imagine:)  I used memento ink in Tuxedo Black to ink around the edges and added some craft store ribbon in olive green.  The darling rose cabochon is from Pretty Lovelies store at Etsy. Sweet little Dahlia is colored with Copic markers.  Have a great weekend everyone!

Keeping My Fingers Crossed!

I am submitting some creations for the Echo Park Fresh Face Designer and I am super excited about it.  This will be my first time to 'try-out'as a designer and I really hope Echo Park loves my stuff:)
I have three different projects using two of Echo Parks latest lines which are fabulous!  The first card I made was with the 'Summer Days' collection kit which fit pefectly with the Hannah stamp from Claudia & Co.  I stamped her on cryogen white paper from the Paper Temptress and colored her with copic markers.  The little fishies were embossed with Stampin' Up powders in wild wasabi, tangerine tango and melon mambo.  Then I just added a lime green ribbon from Hobby Lobby.  The highlight of this card is the bright and beautiful Echo Park 'Summer Days' papers in Scallops, Rainbow and bright pink.  The cute little hang tag is a sticker from the collection.

I used the 'For the Record' collection for my next two projects and I have to tell you, I love this collection!  It is vintage, fun and bright.  The accent pieces are so gorgeous I had to make myself stop adding them.  For the box card I used the Fancy Floral for the body of the card and Borders paper for the band around the card.  I then added a border from an ek Success punch and some ribbon from Archivers.  All the goodies on top are all part of the element and alphabet stickers and a postcard from the paper collection.  I inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Antique Linen to enhance the vintage feel of the card.  The inside card used the same Fancy Floral paper as well as the green coordinating paper.  I used a Spellbinders die and added a piece of yellow ribbon.  This card was so simple and yet so beautiful.

My altered photo journal started with a Raw Goods mini album from We R Memory Keepers and it was just so enjoyable to decorate and embellish using as much as I could from 'For the Record' collection.  The only items not from the collection were craft store twine, acrylic paint and mod podge.  The keys and keyhole are Tim Holtz' idealogy but everything else came right out of the collection.  There were so many great postcards, stickers and accents to use that I was disappointed when I had stop adding to the pages.  I also inked around all of the edges with Staz On ink in Saddle Brown for that old, worn look.  I had such a great time with these collections and love Echo Park paper that I will continue to 'try-out' as a Fresh Face Designer even if I don't make it this time.  Ha ha, as if I need another excuse to buy fabulous papers!

Baby blogger

This is my very first blog post EVER!! Yep,  taking my first baby steps and hope to become a full fledged blogger very soon. I am excited to be doing this so you can all see my work.
About two weeks ago, SplitCoastStampers posted a weekly inking on box cards and I have to tell you I am seriously obsessed!  OMG that is about all I have been making the past few days and I am not sorry to say that.  These cards never get boring and I love the fact that they are hiding a little surprise on the inside.  Just another thing to decorate! Yay!  Thank you SplitCoastStampers.
I have posted some pictures of some of my favorites.  One is made with the new Echo Park 'For the Record' collection and the other two are with Fancy Pants'  'It's the little things' line.  The Echo Park 'For the Record' collection is ecclectic and vintage (which helps my other latest obsession of vintage looking goodies).  This one is decorated almost entirely out of the collection kit with just some craft store ribbon and a paper punch by Stampin Up.  The Fancy Pants line is also adorable and the colors are fantastic.  The line works well with a vintage feel and also with a contemporary stamp such as the stack of gifts.  Enjoy!
