Teacher Appreciation

Happy Friday everyone!  It's almost time for our long holiday weekend and I am really looking forward to it.  We will be spending some time with our friends at the lake- can't wait.

Today I have a card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  Very cute sketch.  I changed it up just a bit and added some things.  I thought since it is close to the end of the school year I would create a Thank You card for all of the wonderful teachers out there!

I mixed papers from Stampin Up! 'Urban Garden' and Crate Paper 'Farmhouse'.  I thought the apple paper from Crate paper would be perfect for the A La Mode image on this card.  The stamp set used is 'An Apple For Teacher' from My Favorite Things which includes this cutie and some great sentiments.  I added this fantastic mini ruler from 7 Gypsies and a few red pearls from Kaiser Craft.  I threw a few MFT Die-namics in too- Botanical Beauty and First Place Award.

I added another sweet sentiment and one more Botanical beauty flower die-namic on the inside along with the apple paper.

Seeing Red!

Hi everyone! Hope you are having a great week and are looking forward to a nice, long weekend!  The card I am showing today is for The Greeting Farm Fresh Friday Challenge which was to have black and white with one other color.  As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew I would be using Black, White and Red- one of my most favorite color combos!

I stamped sweet Dahlia in Memento Black ink and then used copic markers to add some red touches.  The black and white papers are from my stash and the cute red button is actually from an old jacket I had once upon a time.  I knew those buttons would come in handy someday:)

The photo corner and the border are both from MFT die-namics and of course I had to add a little sparkle with red gems.  The little tags and coordinating stamps are all from the 'Tiny Tags' collection from Stampin Up!

I kept the inside simple using the same papers and border punch from MFT.

Lookin' stylish!

Hi everyone!  It's the start of a new week- hope it's a great one for everyone out there!  The card featured on my blog today is for a couple of different challenges.  The first is the Unity Challenge 'Show Your Stripes'.  Simple enough, use Unity stamps and have stripes somewhere in the design.  I used Basic Grey 'Konnichiwa' paper which has some gorgeous stripes in it and then worked everything else around that.  I used Unity's 'Going Retro' stamp set and used some Basic Grey brads from the 'Indian Summer' collection.

The second challenge is Cute Card Thursday which challenged us to use a touch of sparkle.  Ha ha, never hard for me- I love me some bling!  This lovely lady's stole is glittered up with Diamond Stickles.  I also added a bit to her hair bow and the sentiment.

I haven't quite decided what to use this card for so I left the inside blank.  I just used more of the 'Konnichiwa' paper.  Notice, no bling on the inside though.  I might just have to add some later:)

New Home!

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday!  Yay, it's almost the weekend!!  My sister just moved into a gorgeous new home and I wanted to make her a card as a little housewarming gift.  I am also using this card for the Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge 375.

The challenge colors to use are Night of Navy, Bashful Blue and Pumpkin Pie.  I am using Stampin Up! papers in Pumpkin Pie and Baja Breeze.  All of my navy is Bazzil.  The stamp set 'Good Neighbors' is also from Stampin Up!  They are such cute little houses I had to use all three.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut out the tag using Stampin Up punches.  The border punch is Martha Stewart.  I added a few gems here and there and a nice navy ribbon.

The inside also uses a sentiment from Stampin Up! and I cut some fishtail banners with my MFT fishtail stax die-amics.  I just need to write a note to my sister and include a gift card so she can buy some fabulous new decor item!

For the Birds!

Hi everyone.  I am entering my first Splitcoast Stampers challenge today!  I have been posting cards to my Splitcoast gallery for some time now but this is my first challenge.  This card is for Ways to Use It and we were challenged to make something with a bird on it.

I had this card halfway started and this challenge offered a way to get it finished and off of my desk.  Woo hoo- I always need more room when I am crafting!  I had the front papers and the banners all cut out.  They just needed to be assembled on the ribbon.  The 'happy birthday' sentiment is from Stampin Up! and my cute little bird is a button from Charlenes Button Box at Etsy.com.  The banners are MFT Die-namics mix and match banners.  The little heart is chipboard from Stampin Up! that I painted and  I added some grey gems for a little bling.  The designer paper is Bo Bunny 'Celebrate'- perfect for this card.

The inside features another banner and a perfect sentiment for a happy birthday!

Beautiful Courage

Hello everyone. Happy Monday!  It's my post time again for My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  I took the sketch pretty literally- just added a few extras.

This card is a 6x6 square.  Lots of room for me to showcase my new paper- Simple Stories 'Summer Fresh'.  I love the vintage feel of all this bright colored paper.  I used the Vertical greetings die and stamp set from MFT- such sweet sentiments.

The extras I added were some cute green gingham ribbon and three roses instead of one.  The rose dies I used are MFT Die-namics mini rolled roses and the Royal Rose. Of course I had to add some gems and pearls-  all in my favorite color, red!

The inside I kept pretty simple with strips of the same designer paper.  I added one more red pearl flower from Jenni Bowlin Studio and kept it blank for when I need to write a very special message.

Mommy Dearest Challenge

Hi everyone!  Happy Friday and a Happy Mother's day to all of the mothers out there - me included!  I am looking forward to spending some time with my family this weekend.  In honor of Mother's day, The Greeting Farm has challenged us to show our love to Mom with their "Retro-Fresh" challenge.  As you all know from my previous blog posts, I am all done with my Mother's Day cards so I took this opportunity to make a gift tag for my Moms present.

I cut the tag with my Cricut and then decorated it using the fabulous designer paper 'Sugar Chic' from Heidi Swapp.  The Greeting Farm image is of Anya from the Miss Anya Collection.  I colored her with Copic Markers and distressed the image a bit with Ranger ink.   The 'love you mom' tag is cut from a Verve die and all of the roses are MFT mini rolled roses dienamics.

Lots of liquid pearls, a cabochon from My Pretty Lovelies, some pink ribbon and a few gems finish off this beautiful tag.

What a Pair!

Hi everyone!  Todays card is for the Farm Fresh Friday challenge at The Greeting Farm!  I love the Greeting Farm Stamps.  I have a few in my 'collection' but of course I would love more!  You will see more of their stamps on my blog since I will be entering into more of their challenges.  I also love that they are a Colorado company, located just up the road from me!

The Farm Fresh Friday challenge this week was to use two TGF characters on a project.  I decided to use the set 'I Heart Sweaters' set.   A strange time, I know, to be showing wintery stamps but this couple is so darling.  They are stamped in Memento Ink and colored with Copic markers.  I added a round doily from MFT dienamics and some beautiful golden yellow cabbage ribbon from Prarie Bird Boutique at Etsy.com.

The designer paper is My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline 'Fiddlesticks'.  I cut the image label with my Cricut and then added a cute sentiment from the same set and a little canvas heart cut with a Stampin Up! heart punch and then inked with a stamp pad.

Bubble Over!

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday.  Hope you all have a great week.  I have a card today for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club.  I rotated the sketch a turn and worked from there.

I love the Pure Innocence kids so I chose another one for today. This little girl and the sentiment are both from the 'Blowing Bubbles' set.  The designer paper is My Mind's Eye Stella and Rose 'Gertie'.  I used MFT Circle Stax for the image and then masked it to color around the edges.  I used paper punches to cut the bubbles and then overlayed them with Rain Dots from Cloud Nine Design- cute!  A small silver buckle from Stampin Up! and some Doodlebug Design twine in yellow are the finishing touches.

On the inside, I stamped this cutie again and added another Botanical Beauty flower.  I have left this card blank because I'm not sure yet what sentiment I will use.  This card could work for so many occasions.

On to other things!

Woo hoo.  These are the last of my Mothers Day cards!  I cut it a little close since I do still have to mail most of these but they will arrive on time.  The first card is for my wonderful Grandma.  She is such a spunky lady.  She recently fell and broke her hip but is already out of the hospital and in physical therapy.  No small feat when you are 93 years old.  Not only do I love her, I admire her greatly.

The designer paper is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 'Sunshine' Collection.  I found this sentiment online and decided it was perfect for my Grandma. I printed it and the tag on Bazzil cream cardstock.  The tag die is from Stampin Up and the label die is from Verve.  I also used some fishtail stax from MFT and added lots of bling including a jeweled brad from Theresa Collins, rose cabochons from Pretty Lovelies at Etsy.com, Prima and Crystal Stickers gems and pearls. The cream cabbage ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique at Etsy.com

The buttons actually came from my Grandmas mother (my great grandma) and have been handed down through the generations.  Finally, someone is putting them to good use!

For the inside I used some more of the Lost and Found paper; the 'adore' label is part of the designer paper! I also added some more fishtail stax- love those!

The second card is for my stepmother.  I adore her for always taking such good care of my Dad.  The designer papers I used for this one are Basic Grey 'Sweet Threads'  So much cute paper out there...so little time:)

The cardstock and background papers are Bazzil and the butterfly and labels were all cut with my Cricut.  The sentiment is from Stampin Up. I did use some MFT dies for this card and they are the Fancy Flourish and the Royal Rose.  Again, I had to add some bling- this time with liquid pearls, Hero Arts gems and more cabbage ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique.

I kept the inside to the basics- designer paper and a few more gems.  In case you hadn't noticed,  I always leave space to write a personal message to my recipient.  I can always find nice and wonderful things to write about them:)

Another HMD Card!

Hi everyone.  Hope you are having a great Wednesday.  I have another Mothers' Day card today.  This one for a very, very special mother...mine!

I wanted to make this card as beautiful as she is but I don't think I even came close.  I did use lots of soft colors, flowers and gems - all things she loves.  I found this beautiful sentiment online and thought it was perfect for my mom.

The hearts were all cut on my Cricut and I used MFT Dienamics for the oval doily and the rolled roses. The edges of all of the hearts and roses were inked with Ranger distress ink and the designer paper is from Stampin Up!  I also used lots of pink and cream paper that I had in my stash:)

The inside I kept pretty simple because I will be writing a long and lovely note to my mom wishing her a Happy Mothers' Day.  I did add some more ribbon and a little more bling as it is hard for me to resist those!
