Creepy Printers Tray!

Hi all!  This is it- my last Halloween post of the month.  I have had such a great time with all of these Halloween projects and this final one is no exception.

I took a simple 7 Gypsies printers tray purchased at Archivers and turned it into a creepy, crawly holiday decoration! I used the always spooky 'Haunting Potions' stamp set from Raisin Boat along with their cardstock in Halloween colors.  Each section has a different and scary background featuring spiders, bats and skulls.  I popped the two bottom sections out for added dimension and put a Martha Stewart glitter web in the center.

A chilling bottle of poison and the sinister recipe book from where it was made.  Spiders roam in the background and one embossed one hangs from its web.

Spooky jars filled with peculiar concoctions!

The ever popular Toad Warts potion that cures all sorts of ills...or creates them....(mwah ha ha)

Hope you all have enjoyed my Halloween posts.  Here's to a fun-filled Halloween holiday to all!

Treats Galore!

Hi everyone.  Halloween is all about the treats of course and today I have some very charming treat holders to share with you!  I have professed my love for the October Afternoon 'Witches Hazel' paper pack and, as promised, here are the rest of the items I created with it.

The first treat holder is a delightful little box that is stuffed full of Halloween cookies.  The box is from Stampin' Up and I first inked the edges with 'Tangerine' Memento ink.  Then on to the fun and exciting part of choosing the papers, stickers and embellishments to use!  I cut stars with my MFT Die-namics Star Stax and put one on each side of the box , including the adorable tag on the top.

Pictures of the other two sides of the box.  All are so cute! The checkered ribbon came from a package of Verve stamps I had previously ordered. Love to re-use!
I also covered some glassine bags with more of this darling paper set and layered them with lots of the stickers and labels.
The first treat bag features half of a Papertrey Ink Loopsy Daisy die, some Foo-Fa-La ribbon and a Fleur-de-lis.
The second bag shows the scary cat and a sweet sentiment.  I also added some ribbon and twine and a Prima padlock for safekeeping those treats!
Last, but definitely the cutest, is this treat jar filled to the brim with candy corn.  This was originally a jar filled with yummy salsa from Amanda's Darn Good Salsa in Leadville, Colorado and I knew it would be perfect for this project.  I painted and antiqued the lid with acrylic paints and then added a sweet little top to it.  I cut a label out of a few of the patterned papers with a Spellbinders die and then added more stickers and a couple of banner flags. This will look great on the desk of someone very special to me who loooves candy corn!

Halloween Tree!

Halloween is drawing near and I have another great decor piece for the holiday! I used to have a mini black tree for Halloween complete with lights and tiny ornaments.  I searched my house high and low and could not find it (I am notorious for throwing things away and then forgetting I did...) so I decided to create a new one of my own.

I purchased a scary looking branch from Hobby Lobby and then set out creating lots of spooky ornaments to hang on it.  The ornaments were stamped with images from the 'Haunting Potions' stamp set from Raisin Boat which has scary jars, sinister labels and creepy spiders. I used My Favorite Things Die-namics to create the ornament shapes and then stacked them with Raisin Boat cardstock in Halloween colors.

The images were colored with Copic markers or embossed in black or glitter.  I also added black lace and colored gems.  Even though there are no pictures, I added a background stamp on the back of each ornament so they would still be decorative if they flipped around:)

I filled a vase with black marbles for weight and stuck my 'tree' into the middle.  Some raffia fills in the area at the top.  I then punched a hole in the top of each ornament, added some black thread and hung them on the branches. Voila! A great Halloween showpiece!
