Happy Holidays and Exciting News!

Hi everyone!  Just a quick post to wish you a very Merry Christmas and to tell you some exciting news I have for the new year!  This will be my last post as a Raisin Boat Designer and I thought it only fitting to show some wonderful Christmas cards I created using their beautiful Christmas stamps.

This card showcases the gorgeous ornaments and evergreen boughs from 'Holiday Hang-ups'.  I used festive holiday colors and popped out the ornaments for the illusion of hanging from the bough.

This cute little elf card is my nod to clean and simple.  I actually like the white background and simple embellishments although I did add a bit of glitter!

Now on to my exciting news....I am proud to announce that I am part of the BRAND NEW Paper Wings Productions Design Team! Paper Wings Productions has a fun, eclectic mix of rubber stamps and I can't wait to get started.  Please check out the wonderful store and the gorgeous Paper Wings blog, The Aviary.

Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and enjoy time with your friends and family.  Here's to an exciting 2013!  See ya next year!

Mourning Special Angels

This post today is dedicated to the community of Newtown, Connecticut and especially to those that lost loved ones in the horrific tragedy last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary.

It is but a small gesture but one that is filled with so much compassion and tenderness.  A nations heart is broken and we as a people are grieving together for those special angels taken away far too soon.  I hope that in the coming weeks, all of our thoughts and prayers help those families through their sorrow and grief.

Peace and happiness to you and your loved ones this holiday season.

Little Gifts of Love

Hi everyone!  Christmas is getting closer and although I am finished shopping (yay!) I have not wrapped a single gift.  Today I made a couple of gift card holders that I can easily stuff into a stocking that makes the presentation a bit more jolly!
I have used the Papertrey Ink 'Love Lives Here: Holiday' stamp and die set for both of these holders. I love this set with it's homespun images and heartfelt sentiments.  Plus, the tiny mitten and stocking dies are too cute!
The first holder is like a card but you can slip the cover under the ribbon to close it and keep the present a secret. I used some very non- traditional papers from Stampin Up! but the colors were perfect.  For the front, I used the sweet Christmas tree die  complete with star topper along with an equally sweet sentiment.  I added some rolling hills and lots of glitter for the snow.
The inside features a gift card pocket cut with the My Favorite Things die and is decorated with another smaller Christmas tree decked out with crystals and a pair of darling mittens. The finishing touches are more glitter and some lace trim from My Mind's Eye.

The second gift card holder is simply cut from the top of a small paper bag and then cut, folded and glued into the size that I wanted.  I think this stamp set works so well with the kraft paper- gives it a very homey feel.  I used more of the 'Loves Lives Here: Holiday' stamps and dies along with the 'Tiny  Tags' stamp set and coordinating die also from Papertrey Ink to create this sweet little holiday banner. I added a couple of tiny jingle bells and lots of liquid pearls in red and white.  The border at the bottom, the inside tag and the gift card pocket are all cut from My Favorite Things dies. Can't wait to fill the stockings of some very special people!

Cute Critter Tags!

Hi Everyone!  I have the cutest project to share with you today!  To celebrate Halloween, I created some 'Dog Tags' so it is only fitting that I create some Christmas tags featuring more cute critters. I am so excited to say that these tags were also featured on the Raisin Boat Facebook Page last Friday!  People loved them and I have to admit, they are pretty sweet.

The Raisin Boat stamp set used on these darling tags is  'Naughty or Nice?' Perfect question for this time of year!  It has super cute images of pets doing their holiday thing and a toasty little snowman.  Plus, lots of adorable sentiments that are just right for the holidays.

I have been seeing lots of Christmas cards and decorations in non-traditional colors so I thought I would give it try.  I first created a pocket for the ornaments from the Raisin Boat Collection Card Stock.  I embossed some frosty snowflakes on the front and cut a couple of borders for pizazz and then added a nice little sentiment and lots of ribbon.  Perfect for a gift!

Sweet little kitty cat playing with the most breakable ornament on the tree!  Did anyone else ever have a tree not decorated on the bottom because of the cat? That or coming home and finding the tree tipped over because the cat climbed it!

Ruh-roh!  Another cute pet having sooo much fun with our beautifully wrapped gifts!  Oh well, just have to wrap them again before anyone sees what's inside!

My favorite pet of all, the one that is so worn out from all of the festivities that they can't keep their eyes open.  This is when all is forgiven :)

And lastly, a warm and toasty snowman with a warm holiday treat!  He looks happy now but I'm not sure about that melting going on......
