Monthly Mini: September!

Hi everyone! Whew! Got this mini scrapbook posted in the nick of time before the month of September is behind us! This month has rushed by and I've been out of town and super busy so it was no small feat. I swear one of these months I will actually be ahead of schedule!

This mini book was created for a sweet couple who just had their first baby- a boy in August! I went in search of a 'baby' paper line for this album and when I saw the Crate Paper 'Wonder' collection I knew it was the one! It is fresh and contemporary and not all pink or blue and baby-ish. It can actually be used for all different sorts of projects but I thought the trendy and playful touches really lent themselves to a baby album! Plus, there are puffy stickers which are my newest obsession!

I started with a Bo Bunny Edgy album that I cut down to make it a bit smaller while keeping the layered edges visible. Fun colored tassels are part of this collection and I used a few of them throughout, including this one on the cover!

A sweet polka dot frame  is layered with hearts and ribbons! There are the cutest little tags in the ephemera collection!

Another tag, this one with a charming phrase in a beautiful font!

I die-cut extra stars from the pretty papers to accent some of the pages. They go perfect with the ones already in this collection!

I just love the soft colors and beautiful patterns of the collection!

Oh, the puffy stickers are the cutest! The animal images are irresistible!

More fun stickers layered with the gorgeous patterns!

A bit of ribbon and a felt heart for this picture page! I aded in small touches of gold with the sequins that are in the enamel dots package!

Sweet layers surround a gold photo frame. I cut out the adorable birdies and popped them off the page.

A pretty pocket page to hold extra photos and special mementos!

One more tassel for the last page along with a happy tag and a bit of twine!

Hope you enjoyed this charming baby mini album!

Tasty Minis!

Hi everyone! I needed some mini cards to add to goodie bags for an event I am attending this weekend. I had quite a few on hand but needed a few more and decided to create some 'tasty' minis to complete my bags!

The Alley Way Stamps has some of the cutest food and drink designs that I could not pass up. Mini cards are so fun to create and the limited space is easy to work with- the adorable designs can really shine! I started with drinks,  added a sweet and ended with fruit! All the food groups covered!

Paper piecing for this coffee mug in a sweet chevron! I stamped the steam in brown and then went over it with some Stickles glitter. Such a cute sentiment too!

Two smaller die cut mugs here with sparkly steam! I added a little glitter with the sparkly gems.

A little glass of lemonade is all dressed up with glitter and a colorful straw. A bit of flair and twine dress up the bottom!

What's better than one cupcake? Three of course! These were colored with Copic markers in candy shades and popped off the oval background.  The fun sentiment is embossed over the charming striped background.

Finally some luscious berries simply colored with Copic markers and layered over a tiny polka dot background. Some tiny gems and a super cute sentiment are the finishing touches!

And finally, the assembled goodie bag filled with SecretBees creations and special touches!

Watercolors And Doodles!

Hi everyone! A pretty watercolor floral card today- this one with one of my favorite stamp sets from My Favorite Things, Pretty Poppies

I wanted the flowers to be more of a background for the large sentiment, so I masked off the center of the card before I stamped the poppy images in distress inks and then spread all of that gorgeous color around with a wet paintbrush! An easy but beautiful way to achieve a watercolor effect.

I used Hero Arts Black Dye Ink for the sentiment as it stamps so dark and solid and a black permanent marker was used to doodle around the flower edges for a bit of a thicker edge. For me, a card isn't really finished without some sparkle so I added in black glitter centers and pretty gems around the border.

The inside is pretty clean with a simple sentiment and more of those watercolored blooms off to one side. A few more gems add just the right amount of sparkle!  This is my last card to be entered into the MFT Card Design Superstar Contest going on right now. You should check out all of the fabulous entries!
