Mixed Patterns!

Hi everyone! I admire pattern and design mixing! It's always interesting and keeps the eye moving and finding different things! I tend to be a matchy matchy person with my own personal style but love to do this technique with my paper crafting.

These two cards were created for Papertrey Ink's MIM challenge #206 of stamping and mixing patterns. I didn't get too crazy with color choices and florals always look great combined with stripes and dots.

For the first card, I stacked the patterns in a vertical arrangement and showcased the largest of the stamped patterns. An additional design of chevrons was added with the sentiment tag.

This card has a blocked design and shows off more of the delicate flowers and bold chevrons.  I added in some big flower die cuts to draw the eye in and to help remind me that warmer weather is on the way despite the snow we are experiencing as I write this:(

Monthly Mini: March

Hi everyone. Here today with another fabulous mini for the month of March! Since it is March Madness, I thought this would be a great time to showcase a more masculine mini for all of the fantastic guys in our lives.

I was inspired by this Maggie Holmes mini (and all of the paint chip samples I have collected!) to create this adorable mini filled with rad retro designs and cool indie inspired embellishments! This fab mini features the Basic Grey 'Hipster' 6x6 paper pad, designer chipboard stickers and buttons along with lots of dies and twine and gems! Lots of pictures, few words....

You know you probably have lots of these paint swatches stashed in your craft room! Pull them out and create a fab mini of your very own!

Confetti Cards!

Hi everyone! There is a super fun challenge this week for the Make It Monday #205 at Papertrey Ink! It's all about confetti and confetti = happy, so I had to join in!

Confetti Cluster stamping is the technique featured and while I did use the technique, my cards are more single layer and more monochromatic but still gorgeous! I wanted to NOT use a standard shape for my images so I hand drew a sunflower on the card front and filled it in with tiny stamps!

This is the first card I created to really mimic the sunflower and I used a different tiny stamp for each petal. There were pencil lines outlining each petal and I worried it would look like one big blob once they were erased. I was so very pleasantly surprised to get a definite flower and I think this is my favorite card of the two! I loosely threaded some sweet gingham ribbon and added a tag too!

Since I was worried about the flower shape of the first card, I changed up and used two different colors of ink for the second. I also gave it a bright center for a more summery feel. The  pretty cluster of embellishments at the top are layered over some clear chevron acetate and this one features a smaller tag!
