Monthly Mini: August!

Hi everyone! I am back after taking a short blog break! We traveled to California to visit my daughter and enjoy one more visit to sunny Los Angeles before her and her boyfriend moved back to Denver. We played and ate and drank all over that wonderful city and then took two days to travel across California, Utah, Nevada and even Arizona with a moving truck and two cars!

It's only fitting that after visiting the ocean, I create a mini celebrating it! Most of the supplies for this mini came from The Button Farm Club.  They have the cutest kits that have all the supplies you need to create fabulous mini scrapbooks! This one included a Bo Bunny 6x6 mini binder and the gorgeous 'By The Sea' paper collection from Graphic 45! There are also full instructions included for the entire album but I chose to create pages a bit differently!

I loved the cover design of this album from the Button Farm Club with its stacking and layering. My bow is a bit larger with more loops and I added sequins instead of seashells.

The inside cover features a patterned paper tag with a mini tag and lots of ribbon and twine. The journaling sticker is from the sticker page of the collection!

Love the beach rules! They are perfect for a lazy day, ocean vacation!

A large frame on this page just waiting for a great photo! These are real seashells on the pages!

Another photo spot along with an adorable journaling card! This kit also used some Bo Bunny 'Double Dot' card stock.

The lighthouse was cut from some of the designer paper and I added in a paper pieced sailboat die-cut!

This page features a dreamy mermaid and some vellum waves. I also added in a seafoam bow and a seashell!

Twin pages here for those perfect beach photos! The anchor is a Simon Says Stamp die-cut!

Two cute tags and a bit of twine for this page! The photo corners are stickers from the collection!

Don't you just love this whale clip? I adorned it with some ribbon to really show it off!

For the final page a pocket to fill with more photos or journaling cards! More vellum waves at the bottom of the page along with great layers of this beautiful paper!

Thanks for checking out my blog! Bee Happy!!

Get Outta Town!

Hi everyone! I have been in a tropical mood lately and it's showing in my creations! Plus, using this new set of mine from Paper Smooches really put me in an island mood! The sentiments included with this set are perfect little pick me ups for your friends and family in need.

I created these little 3 1/2" encouragement cards that show how much you care in a big way! They are the best size to slip into a lunch box or backpack or even leave on a desk for a co-worker. I gave each card a background of one of the smaller stamps in the set before layering over the fun colored images, sequins and twine.

This card feature some yummy, fruity drinks and a sentiment we all say! Inside it aptly says 'Celebrate'!

Airplanes and suitcases along with a tropical flower can't mean anything but fun and excitement! The sentiment inside reads 'Do what you love'!

Lastly, some strong mountains for someone facing a tough time. The cuteness of this card will make anyone feel better and the inside sentiment of 'Believe in yourself' will be a boost too!

Set Sail!

Hi everyone! I love the ocean! I will live by the ocean someday! In the meantime, in my beautiful sunny state of Colorado, I will make myself happy by creating little works of art about the ocean!  I bought the 'Set Sail' clear stamp set from Simon Says Stamp because of the wonderful sentiments included. The sweet little sailboat, anchors and sea life stamps are just a great bonus!

Although both cards are paper pieced with the same patterned paper pad, each features a different background that fits the sentiment. Both sets of waves are layered with the pretty shimmer paper included with the SSS August card  for a bit of shine!

This card is the more clean and simple of the two with an inked background that is touched with just a bit of Perfect Pearls. I popped it off the card base and added some twine and shiny sequins along with one of those awesome sentiments!

The background of the second card features an inked sun along with a bit of dry embossing on the bottom.  I used more of the shimmer paper from My Mind's Eye for a border and tucked a few more sequins into the waves. I love this sentiment- I say it to myself everyday! I will get my ocean fix in a couple of weeks when I go to visit my daughter in sunny California!
