2017 Monthly Mini: February!

Hi everyone! I'm back again with another monthly installment of my mini scrapbook series! Basic Grey was one of my absolute favorite paper companies ever! There were some actual tears when they decided to not design paper collections anymore and move on to other things. But, I did hang onto a few things (hoarder!) that I couldn't pass up using and this beautiful little mini scrapbook is the result!

I have combined a couple of older Basic Grey collections for this mini since they were all getting out of date and you know, there are always lots of new pretties on the market to buy! I am trying to use up ALL of the supplies in my craft room so I used the Kelly Purkey 'Mon Ami' 6x6 paper pad along with it's matching stickers combined with the 'Capture' Snippets and photo frames. I also threw in a couple of 'Vivienne' laser wood cut stickers too! This sweet mini will be my final homage to the great Basic Grey!

The basis of the mini is a stitched tag die cut used to create all of the pages. There are 5 double sided pages in all including the front cover and back. I also included a glassine envelope that hold a double sided tag for even more mementos! I had such a good time putting all of the pieces together and layering all of the fabulous ephemera. This will be a perfect mini for a best friend! Take a look for yourself......

This is the front of the glassine envelope that holds a two sided tag! Super cute!

And this is the back of the envelope!

An interactive page here! The floral banner flips up to reveal another page!

These Basic Grey collections may be past their prime but they are still adorable and will always hold a special place in my heart!

Leaves And Flowers!

Hi everyone! A very leafy card to share today for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #431! The inspiration picture shows lots of succulents but I chose to feature my greens with gorgeous tropical leaves!

My daughter recently showed me a wedding invitation she was designing for a couple and I was immediately inspired to create a card from that design! I die cut the tropical leaves from two different shades of green and then stamped in the images for more detail. After they were layered over a kraft background, I added in some Crystal Stickles for pretty shine!

I topped off the leaves with a circle die, adding in the plum color of the challenge. The sentiment is also stamped in plum. I added in a few small plum flowers and gave them some sparkly gold centers (because...gold!). I embellished the inside of the card too but left it blank so I can use it for either a birthday or perhaps a Thank You!

It's The Little Things!

Hi everyone! I have a pretty one-layer card to share today, almost totally created with embossing powders! I added in a few polka dots but all of the images and sentiment are heat embossed in bright colors!

To make the colors really pop, I started with a black background and stamped my images in Versamark Ink. I stamped the pink blooms and sentiment first, followed by the green leaves and lastly the small red flowers. I heat embossed the images in between so the colors wouldn't mix.

Once all of the embossing was done, I felt like the card needed a little something more so I added in tiny white polka dots with a white Signo gel pen. They add just the right accent!  I also topped the background with some pink and black twine along with a bow!

Thanks for checking out my blog! Be happy!!
