Oh Happy Day

I am going to need lots of birthday and wedding/shower cards this year and I have been itching to use this adorable stamp set 'Happy Day' from Paper Wings Productions.  I was torn on which card to start first and then had the brilliant idea to use the same stamp set and create cards for both occasions! Keep the same size card and just change up the colors and embellishments slightly for a totally new card.

What a difference changing a color can make! This project is the featured post over at the Paper Wings Production blog, The Aviary.  Head on over there for all of the details and a lot more pictures!

Sun and Stars Tag!

Hi everyone!  I love mixed media - it means  I get to pull out paint and sprays and do a lot more of the 'messy' stuff that I don't do normally on my cards.  For today's project I incorporated all of the above into a cool and masculine birthday tag!  This is also the featured project for the Paper Wings Productions Mixed Media Monday over at The Aviary!

I started with a kraft tag cut with my Cricut and then started in with the fun stuff.  I first sprayed the right hand side of the tag with Tattered Angel Glimmer Mist in Creme de Chocolat for a bit of dimension and then added some fun stamps in acrylic paints.  The focal point is the blazing sun image at the top and bottom of the tag from the  'Earth and Sky' cling set and then I added my favorite polka dots, some sets of lines and triple stamped happy birthday.

I added a gift card holder on the front along with a sweet but not too mushy sentiment.  Painted, glittered and sprayed stars along with a few metal studs accent the rest of the tag.  One of my favorite mixed media projects is to stamp on ribbon.  This is ivory twill that has been stamped with the double dot border in Staz-On ink.

There are more pictures and details on my feature post at The Aviary.  I hope you check it out there

I love my family!  I have a wonderful and hugely supportive husband and (I must say) the best kids in the world:)  Seriously, my life has been so enriched by sharing love and laughter with these very special people and I decided to create some Valentine goodness to show them how much I love them! I started this project with a simple berry basket and created lots of sweet gift holders to fill it.  All of the containers are from Garnish with the exception of the tube which is actually cut from an empty paper towel holder!

I used quite a few PWP stamp sets for this delightful berry basket full of goodies with the main one being the adorable 'Birds of a Feather' set.  I thought it was totally fitting for this project!  I also used the cross-stitch stamp from 'Details Framer' on everything to tie it all in together and added lots of hearts for love.

This cute little container shows off the beautiful flowers from the 'Kind Words' set.

I love how the white hearts and stitches show up on the black paper.

A paper bag made not so simple with this very sweet sentiment which is soooo true!
