2017 Monthly Mini: September!

Hi everyone! We are at the end of September and I have the cutest Fall mini scrapbook for my monthly mini series! This adorable pocket and tag mini features the gorgeous 'Vintage Blessings' paper collection from Simple Stories paired with a Sizzix Bigs XL die.

This paper collection is all about love for family, friends and Fall! There are sweet vintage images paired with lots of hearts, florals and birds in the deep, beautiful colors of Fall. This pocket and tag album is perfect to display all of the wonderful patterns that mix and match so well together!

This is a chunky little album measuring about 3.25" by 4.25" and is full of 6 pockets and coordinating tags. The die allows you to cut as many pockets as you would like but depending on the embellishments, I would say 5 or 6 is the limit! That gives you lots of space for all of your Fall memories!

Each pocket holds a tag that I die cut first out of card stock for sturdiness. Each tag was then layered with a smaller tag of the pretty patterned papers of the collection. Because my mini has so many pockets, I kept each tag thin by just adding a few charming stickers. Here are the fronts of all of the tags!

And of course, the just as adorable back sides of the tags! The colors in this collection are so rich and lovely!

I just had to show you the inside front cover! The patterned paper of tiny houses is so sweet and I popped off the word 'love; from the background so there is plenty of room to slide a photo in!

Each pocket and tag combo is beautiful and unique, but I do have some favorites! I am a sucker for florals and Simple Stories does them in the most gorgeous way! This flowered pocket is highlighted with the amazing birdie washi tape and one of the sweet birds in the collection!

No surprise, another fabulous floral sticker together with a Bits and Pieces sentiment!

I just love the contrasting patterns and colors of this pocket! The mix of mustard yellow with soft pink and turquoise  are so retro and stunning! I have added in a heart and sentiment ephemera from the Bits & Pieces pack for just the right touch!

There are more pretty pockets to this mini album and if you would like to see them all, I invite you to my Instagram or youtube channel for a short video showing all of them! The 'Vintage Blessings' paper collection is a definite must-have for your Fall memories!

Foxy Autumn Blessings!

Hi everyone! Fall is here in all of its beauty although it has been cold and rainy here in Colorado. I am hoping for our regular gorgeous Indian Summer to come along very soon. In the meantime, I make my self happy by creating pretty cards like this one for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #462.

I gave the card base a bit of interest by layering two mod square die cuts together in the challenge colors and then cutting off one corner to match the edge of the card. The rest of the card goodies were layered upon this simple yet bod background!

The sweet fox was stamped in a dark rust ink along with the simple sentiment and I gave each leaf flourish a different hue so they would stand out. I added in the challenge color of aqua with some tiny blooms and highlighted the centers with simple polka dots of gold.

I love these dark colors with a pop of gold so of course I had to add some in! A few golden dots in varying sizes add just the right amount of shine to this pretty Fall card!

Lots Of Gold And Silver!

Hi everyone! I love sparkly! How it glitters and shines and glimmers... well, I'm sure you get the point! I am all about the bling! Todays card is all about sparkly too!

I recently bought this fabulous die from Simon Says Stamp and wanted to showcase it by itself on a card! I die cut the shape three times on a piece of white card stock which I then layered onto strips of gold and silver glitter paper that had been glued together diagonally. The open circles combined with the tiny stitches are just beautiful! For even more shine, I added in a few gold and silver stars!

I couldn't have a plain sentiment so I embossed the word 'Celebrate' in gold onto black card stock cut into a fishtail flag. I added another fishtail flag behind it in sparkly silver and then adhered it to the glittery background for a beautiful effect! For even more pop, the background was mounted onto a black card base. The whole card just shimmers and sparkles in the light- perfect for a celebration!

Batty For You!

Hi everyone! The time for picking out a Halloween costume is getting close! In honor of that, and for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #461, I made a card featuring the cutest trick-or-treaters! They are all ready to go in awesome Halloween colors!

The candy corn was stamped on the first tag and then colored in with alternating yellow and orange. This makes a sweet background for the second tag which is the star of the show! I blended three purple distress inks for an ombré look and then splattered it with a few drops of water.

The cute trick-or-treaters and happy pumpkin were Copic colored in the challenge colors and then layered into some chartreuse grass. I added in a couple of tiny green bats as well as some bright yellow ribbon! To give the stark white base some color, I stamped tiny bat images in alternating challenge colors!

Tweet Fall Decor!

Hi everyone! I love patterned paper! It makes all things more beautiful and I am especially loving the fabulous new paper collection 'Vintage Blessing' from Simple Stories. It is full of charming Fall images in gorgeous, deep colors!

I've been busy crafting with this collections and making lots of cute stuff so I had some scraps left over that would work perfectly for a home decor project. The base for this project is a tin heart that I picked up at Michaels. It measures 5.5" wide and tall so there is plenty of room for pretty paper and cute embellishments!

The heart shape was traced onto a scrap of the patterned paper and then cut out with scissors. I used Scor-tape so it would stick really well but, with a bit of work, I will be able to remove all of the paper and can start over with another collection if I want! Once I adhered the heart shape paper, I also cut 1" strips of coordinating patterns and put them around the inside and outside edges of the heart. Such an adorable contrast!

The sweet banner is a sticker from the 'Vintage Blessings' Combo Cardstock Stickers and I popped it off the background just a bit so I could tuck a beautiful floral sticker behind it. The colored leaves are both chipboard stickers topped with a cute acorn from the 'Bits and Pieces'. To the front of the frame, I layered lots of the lovely chipboard stickers, securing them with hot glue. The final touches are a sentiment word sticker and two hearts in varying sizes. Since there is a twine loop at the top of the heart, this could be hung inside or on a front door as well! Happy Fall!

Wings Of Faith!

Hi everyone! Summer may be drawing to a close but I have still seen lots of pretty dragonflies flitting around here! These beautiful creatures, with their gossamer wings, inspired this weeks card! And it's even more gorgeous in the simple color scheme for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #460.

I created a cool watercolor background with green paint,  letting it dry a bit between applications and daubing it off with a paper towel. I added in a few splatters of blue and green too. While the background was drying, I die cut a dragonfly from royal blue card  stock and even though you can't see from the pictures, gave it a backing of glimmer vellum!

The pretty green leaves were die cut from vellum too and adhered to the bottom of the background. I tucked the dragonfly under the greenery and then stamped a simple sentiment in the challenge blue color! The final touches were some small clear droplets and bright green hemp cord!

Happy Cute Tiny Stuff!

Hi everyone! Who doesn't love baby cards? They are such a joy to make and it's always a happy occasion welcoming a new baby to the world!

I stamped the sweet dresser image and it's drawer full of goodies in Versafine black ink before doing some soft watercoloring in baby pinks, purples and yellows. I also added in a vase of flowers and an adorable little onesie for maximum cuteness!

I glittered up the front of the card base so it would show through the falling heart cover which was also painted with a light wash of watercolor. I then layered on all of the painted pieces and topped off this sweet scene with a pink bow for the new baby girl! The final accents are shiny gems and a bit of gold paint on the drawer knobs!

Flowers and Stripes!

Hi everyone! The color combo for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge #459 is one of my favorites! I love the bold look of red and black on white- so pretty and striking. Even if the inspiration picture didn't feature flowers, I love doing florals in this combo!

I also knew I wanted to show a few black and shite stripes too so I cut a diagonal piece of patterned paper for the start. Next, I inked up some beautiful new flower stamps that I just got and embossed them with shiny powder! The largest is red vellum and the small one is solid black.

The beautiful sentiment is stamped in black onto a pretty shaped piece along with just edges of the flowers. I mounted this to the card before layering on the gorgeous blooms and some delicate polka dotted leaves. Bright and bold and oh so pretty!
