Birthday Balloons!

Hi everyone! Here today with another bright and happy card! I bought this Heidi Swapp 'happy' die a while back at Jo-ann and have been wanting to use it and the first thing that came to mind was a happy birthday card! I was also inspired by a Reverse Confetti creation to triple layer the die-cut for a rainbow look!

I wanted happy balloons so I gave them each a fun pattern before popping them off a big dotted background and adding in twine strings. The sentiment is also raised a bit so there is lots of dimension on this card!

The inside is clean and simple with one fun balloon and a simple sentiment! I am entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes!

Softened Cards!

Hi everyone! We woke up yesterday morning to more snow so I was definitely in the mood to create in bright and vivid colors! Luckily for me, the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge #210  was all-out bright too!

The actual challenge was to soften a too bright  (is there such a thing!) or bold background using vellum. While I will probably never tone down anything colorful, I do love the softness that vellum adds to a project. In fact, I was so inspired that I created three cards!

The first, and my personal favorite, was stamped in bold pink and black Rosie Posie flowers on a white background. I simply added a decoratively edged panel of vellum overlaying these gorgeous blooms and added a bright pink bow with a tag!

I wanted to stay with the color and black theme so I used a graphic image from the Rosie Posie set to create this stunning honeycomb card! I actually adored the styling of the Ikat card Lizzie created for the challenge so much that I copied it! I added a full cover of vellum and added in a accent flower and ribbon.

For the last card, I used the small rose image from the set to create the background, this time in a striking yellow and black combo. A smaller panel of vellum was embossed in swiss dots and scalloped on the edge before I adhered it.  Tiny bows and gems complete the look!

Monthly Mini: April

Hi everyone! Time again for another fabulous mini scrapbook! Last month's mini was all-out masculine so this month I did a total 180 and went totally feminine! Lots of frills, lace, ribbon and gems layered together with the gorgeous 'On Trend' paper collection from Crate Paper!

I used a Bo Bunny cascading chipboard album and the pages are pretty large- lots of room for scrapbook creativity and great embellishments! Although this paper line is not super babyish, I think it would be a stunning baby girl album.

The cover of the album features a lacy butterfly by My Favorite Things and lots of ephemera.

I used a lot of tags in the album- some pre cut and some die cut. All gorgeous, especially when stacked with pretty flowers and vellum butterflies!

A darling corner cluster of stickers, ephemera and stick pins with a bit of ribbon thrown in for good measure!

Another tag this time for journaling! I couldn't resist using lots of those delicate vellum butterflies!

A sweet birdie here along with room for two pictures. There is also a tiny tag attached to the cabbage ribbon bow!

A sweet little banner together with stacked fishtail flags are layered over the pretty paper designs!

This camera was one of my favorite pieces from the die cuts! Love those polka dots!

A pocket holding three tags big enough for pictures or journaling! Lots of flowers tucked in here!

This butterfly is huge and looks stunning on this page!

One more tag attached to a super pink and super big bow! So girly!

The last page with a big doily, lots of beautiful florals and sparkly gems!

What a sweet album! Hope you enjoyed it!
