Inky Feathers!

Hi everyone! Feathers are a bit of an obsession with me lately- I am so glad they haven't gone out of style! This colorful card features a new stencil I purchased recently-'Mini Fancy Feathers' from The Crafters Workshop.

There are so many gorgeous feathers in this stencil and I knew they would look awesome with distress inks! I used a combo of three colors for each feather and blended them lightest to darkest and fit the feathers together in an interesting pattern!

I used a die to cut to split up the card panel and give it some curved edges. This created the perfect spot for my sentiment, which was embossed in white! I thought the card needed a bit of interest so I layered some pink and silver washi tapes in the background and added some silver gems.

Fall Flowers!

Hi everyone! I was perusing some of my favorite blogs a while ago and came across this beautiful card that inspired me! Hers was created with a series of stencils and inks but since I didn't have those particular supplies, I wanted to try it with watercolors.

I first stamped the MFT images in Versa Mark ink and then embossed them in white so they would really pop against the dark background I was planning. I chose some bright colors from my Kuretake Watercolors and filled in all the images, going back after they had dried a bit to layer in more color.  Once all of the images were completely dry, I added in the brown background.

Although the panel was beautiful on its own, I gave it a bit of visual interest by die-cutting the bottom at an angle and layering it over some orange card stock. I added in a few gold sequins and a gold thread bow for the final touches!

Feather Trio!

Hi everyone! The other day I purchased a pair of boots by Jessica Simpson and fell in love with the box top which features a watercolor feather with her logo embossed in gold. Instantly I thought of the Papertrey Ink 'Feather Finery' stamp set and was inspired to create this trio of watercolor cards.

With the first card, I applied distress ink to the stamp, spritzed it with water and got this soft and muted feather. Keeping with the JS logo, I embossed a sentiment in gold over the feather and then outlined the edges a bit to make it really stand out! Some gold splatters and a gold thread bow add pretty accents along with sparkly sequins and lots of Wink of Stella shine!

For the bluish feather, I put the distress inks directly onto my craft sheet and added just a small spritz of water before stamping with the image. The center of this feather is embossed with silver along with some splatters that I added by hand. I gave this card a little sparkle with silver thread and some Glossy Accents dots.

The final card is actually watercolored with Kuretake watercolors. The image was first stamped with Versafine Ink and left to dry before adding in the blues and greys with a brush. I kept this card more simple with a silver strip of card stock and a few scattered stars and sequins!
