2017 Monthly Mini: May

Hi everyone! It's the end of another month and time for a new mini scrapbook! I was out of town for the first two weeks of the month and needed a quick mini that didn't take too much time but was still super cute. This cascading or waterfall mini fit the bill perfectly!

I haven't made one of these for a while and I forgot just how easy and adorable they are! There are plenty of tutorials on Youtube that are easy to follow for all types and sizes of this mini. This sweet little book is 4.5" wide by 8.5 " long with 7 waterfalls so there is plenty of room for pictures and cute embellishments!

I had both 'Little You' paper collections from Crate Paper and used the Girl mix for an adorable mini scrapbook last year. The Boy collection is just as charming and cute and has the sweetest sentiments, embellishments and the same touches of gold! For the cover, I used a few different 6x6 patterned papers layered together with an adorable journaling card and the great embellishments! I left the back plain but did add some cute stickers to the spine!

The inside is where the magic happens! My waterfalls are 4" x 4" and I rounded the corners for a bit of a cleaner look. Each of the pages are covered in the patterned papers of the collection along with adorable stickers, chipboard and ephemera! I used lots of enamel dots and gold accents to add just the right touch.

You could put two waterfalls in this book but I love pockets in my minis that can hold additional photos and ephemera. I also created two tags that are decorated on both sides for photos or journaling! The outside of the pocket is adorned with more of the fabulous ephemera and stickers!

Below is a short video that shows all of the pages in their cuteness and you can get a better idea of how a waterfall mini works! This mini scrapbook will be a treasured gift for new parents and will be even more adorable filled with pictures of baby!

Feathers In Green And Gray!

Hi everyone! It's been a little bit since I posted! I was on a fabulous two week trip to Italy and we had so much fun! I love traveling but it is always so nice to get home to your own bed:)

While I was away I couldn't do any of the Color Throwdown challenges so I am super excited to get back to creating cards for this awesome challenge. The color scheme for this this week Color Throwdown #444 is simple and soothing and I kept my card clean and simple to match!

I used two tones of green and one shade of pale gray to stamp in my feather images. I stamped the top images first and then covered them up with a piece of paper to avoid stamping over them with the bottom images. I was actually planning a larger space between the top and bottom feathers but obviously I couldn't see very well through my scratch paper!

However, I prevailed and found a thin, one line sentiment stamp that wouldn't cover up too much of the pretty feathers. The sentiment is stamped in the same soft gray and looks awesome double mounted on green and gray card stock! I cut the main panel down a bit and added in some patterned paper to bring out the gray. I finished up with some clear green sequins for some shine!

New Baby Snuggles!

Hi everyone! Making baby cards is always such a joy! It's all about love and softness and sweetness! This card, made for a first time moms baby shower, is no exception!

This is the first time I have used this charming onesie set from Reverse Confetti and it is too adorable! This sentiment is just too cute and will be perfect for this millennial mom! I stamped this onesie in a soft pink and will be layering it over a couple of pinking edged squares. The first square is stamped in a small floral pattern and then embossed with a pearly powder. I topped it with the smaller square which is washed with a light pink watercolor and glittered with a bit of Perfect Pearls for a subtle shine.

Tiny Swiss dots are so perfect for baby cards and I made this the focal background of the card and rounded the corners for a bit of interest. I tied everything with some soft tulle ribbon in pink before popping up the adorable onesie and adding in some shiny sequins!

The new mom will be so thrilled to receive this pretty card and I couldn't be happier creating it for her! The snuggle IS real!
