Pots Of Gold!

Hi everyone! I love crafting for holidays! It's a joy to make something and then an even bigger joy to give it to someone special! St. Patrick's Day is no exception and the 'St. Patricks Day' Simple Set from Simple Stories makes creating adorable gift bags a breeze!

I used 4 inch wide cellophane bags from Wilton and based my designs on that size. I picked out a few border dies for the toppers of the bags and cut the patterned paper to 5 inches long. The bag toppers will cover the top 1 1/2 inches of the bag so I cut the paper to 3 inches wide and folded them in half before cutting with the die.

I wanted to do a couple of double toppers with one being slightly larger than the other so I also cit some patterned paper to 2 1/2 inches. When these are folded in half, they will be a quarter inch smaller than the other topper. I used a score board to make all of the creases and folded all of the patterned pieces before cutting them with the die.

It's important to remember to place the border die on the open edges of the patterned paper. This way the fold stays at the top and does not get cut. Once you have all of your toppers cut and trimmed it's time for all of the fun embellishments! I used a variety of the stickers included with the collection along with some paper curls and fishtail flags from the pretty patterned papers. Most of the decorations were adhered to the topper but stickers work great on cellophane so I added some to the bottom of each bag .

I filled them with some paper grass and lots of gold and green coins. Just the thing to sweeten up the day for a lucky leprechaun! Below is a video of the entire process if you didn't get my directions above. Check out how cute these bags are!

Sweet Birdie Wishes!

Hi everyone! Is everyone ready for Spring?! I know I am and we haven't even had a bad Winter. Still it has been cold these past few days so I took the opportunity to create a Spring-y card for the Color Throwdown Challenge #481.

I made a clean and simple card with the soft and soothing colors of the challenge. There is a purple ombré polka dot background topped with a sweet little bird carrying the cutest tiny envelope! I stamped and fussy cut a branch for the bird to sit on and also added a few tiny flowers in there as well.

Before adhering the sentiment, I wrapped a shiny piece of ribbon around the card base. I also added more blooms around the sentiment and tucked in a few sparkling gems. For even more shine, all of the images were spritzed with a Perfect Pearls mixture for a glittery look.

Last Of The Winter Wishes!

Hi everyone! Winter is still with us but I would like to start saying good-bye to it and what better way than with some cute cards! I needed to use up my remnants of the adorable Simple Stories 'Sub-Zero' collection and decided to make some fun, wintery cards.

This sweet moose, who also wants to say good-bye to Winter, is the focus of the first card. I layered bits of the patterned paper along with one of the 3x4 journaling cards for the background. I die-cut a few vellum snowflakes and added those in along with some of the collection snowflakes. A few colored sequins were tucked in among the layers for a bit of shine!

The second card is a cute landscape made with the snow-covered homes from the bits & pieces. I layered those over more of the adorable patterned papers and tucked in a snow-covered tree too! More vellum was added to mimic some snow and I glittered all of the snow areas with clear Wink of Stella for a beautiful glimmer.

Lavender Love!

Hi everyone! Spring will soon be on the way and along with it lots of beautiful blooms! The new Color Throwdown Challenge #480 is all about Spring colors with this new challenge.

This card is soft and sweet with its lovely lavender blooms and uplifting sentiment. I stamped the main image first and then decided to create a similar background with smaller images. All of them were colored in with Copic markers in the challenge colors!

I layered the challenge colors in scalloped rectangles and squares and topped it all of with a sheer green ribbon before adding the main image and sentiment. There is also a sweet little junk bow at the side for visual interest! Wink of Stella clear glitter gives the main bouquet a tiny bit of shine along with the purple gems.

Sweet Chick!

Hi everyone! Valentine's Day is just around the corner and of course we are seeing lots of pinks, reds and hearts! The new Color Throwdown Challenge #479 features those exact colors with a bit of gray thrown in.

I didn't want to go overboard with hearts so I chose this adorable stamp from Stamping Bella that has just one tiny heart and the cutest chick ever! I know most chicks are yellow but, keeping with the color combo I went with monotone gray on the image so the colors would really pop!

The background was inked with a stencil and then mounted onto a scalloped base that was an oops from an earlier card:) I cut out the image into a tag shape and added a bit of red behind it as well as some red twine and gems. The sentiment, stamped in pink, tops the whole thing off!

Thankful Hearts!

Hi everyone! We have been having some pretty awesome weather here in Colorado but it's still chilly enough for mittens which inspired this cute card!

This mitten is cut from a large die and is supposed to be folded at the top but I wanted to change things up a bit so I created a card that would fold at the opposite end. The colors of this mitten are wintery but still cheery and I added in lots of hearts for February!

I added tiny stamps around the edges and a pretty little heart border at the top! A bit of pink ribbon and some pink sequins add a little bit of shine and the sentiment is so true and sweet!

Flurries Of Fun!

Hi everyone! I have a new mini scrapbook to share today and it is a cutie! All of this cold weather has put me in the mood to scrap some winter photos with the adorable and charming 'Sub Zero' paper collection from Simple Stories! The bright colors, cute critters and fun motifs are perfect for preserving all of your winter adventures!

I created a staggered chipboard mini with some album builder Accu-Cut dies for lots of visual interest. This way you can see from one glance all of the colorful and snow-themed pages! Each page has a different shape and is covered in the fun patterned paper and then embellished to the hilt with all of the sweet  chipboard, bits & pieces and sticker designs!

Here are some close up pictures of the pages in the album!

There is definitely a 100% chance of fun creating with this collection! I used it here to document a ski vacation our family took but it would also be wonderful to show off those fun snow days full of sledding, snowman building and snowball fights!

You can watch the video below to see the album in action! Enjoy!

Happy Balloons!

Hi everyone! The card I have for you today for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #478 is simple but oh so adorable! What could be happier than bright balloons in fun shapes! The color scheme is so bold and cheerful!

These balloon shapes from Sunny Studio Stamps are so much fun to stamp! I am just amazed by how lifelike they are with their awesome shading! I stamped three happy balloons in the challenge colors and gave them coordinating strings too! I added in more of the colors with scattered confetti and fun streamers.

For the blue in the challenge, I die cut a stitched frame and added it to the perimeter of the card. I also stamped the sweet sentiment in a matching blue! So fun and festive! I will definitely be stamping more with these great shapes!
