Whole Lot Of Lovely!

Hi everyone! I know we are smack dab in the middle of Winter but it's not to early to start thinking about brighter colors and flowers! It actually won't be too long and we will be seeing some blooms start popping up!

This clean and simple card started with a background of patterned stripes stamped in a rainbow of colors! I then used the new flower trio from My Favorite Things and stamped each bloom in black so they would really stand out against the colors.

A coordinating sequins was added on each stripe of color for a tiny bit of shine. I kept the sentiment simple - just stamped in black and backed with black card stock that matches the base!

Seeing Spots!

Hi everyone! I love the color combo of red, black and white! It is always so striking and can make your designs look amazing! Case in point, these two spotted Valentines Day cards.

Granted, these little leopards are stinking' cute on their own. I just love how some of their spots are hearts! I did color in a few areas with a dot of red on this little guy and mounted him on a panel of red, mini hearts. I added a strip of leopard spotted patterned paper to the card base and some tiny gems for just a bit of sparkle!

For this card I decided to highlight the black in this color combo and adhered a large black panel to the card base. This is topped with a fun scalloped square and more spotted paper! I die cut the heart trios from a square of red card stock and then stamped the coordinating hearts in black. This card features the sentiment on a tag and tiny black gems!

Snow-one Quite Like You!

Hi everyone! It has been a bit since I posted:( I got the crud that has been going around and it really knocked me off my feet- ugh! But I'm feeling better and couldn't wait to make a card for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #477!

We had some snow and bitter cold here this week so it was nice to use bright, cheery colors. To make me feel even better, I stamped this adorable snowman with his sweet birdie friends! As I was creating, this card took a slight masculine turn so I went with it and added in more stamped texture after heat embossing some dots and watercoloring!

After patting my self on the back for this awesome background (hehe), I watercolored the snowman and birds with the same colors and then popped them up for more dimension.  The sentiment is stamped on a simple piece of gray card stock that matches the card base and a few enamel dots are the finishing touch!

Beautiful Medallions!

Hi everyone! I am squeaking these cards in at the last moment for the Color Throwdown Challenge #475! It's a lovely color combo too- aqua. pink and navy! I was also inspired by the picture as well and created these cards with pretty medallion shapes.

The first card has a background of an alcohol ink mix of pink and aqua. I topped that with a navy piece of card stock die cut with some beautiful doily shapes. This die is (very sadly) retired but is one of my favorites that I use quite often and it allows the pretty background to show through the intricate shapes!

The sentiments were stamped on pink card stock in navy and layered over tiny strips of aqua. I felt the card needed some shine so I added in twinkling sequins in shades of aqua and pink! All of this was mounted onto an aqua card base and I even added a doily shape to the inside of the card.

The second card is in softer tones of the challenge colors. I took a strip of nail polish marbled card stock and gave it a soft aqua background before mounting that onto a scalloped base.

The sentiment is stamped off to the side in the same navy color and I simply placed a couple of gorgeous doilies onto the card. I added in a few candy dots for a pop of color and shine!

Hello Love!

Hi everyone! Hope you all are having a wonderful New Year! I know we just finished a busy holiday season but I am here to remind you that it's not too early to start creating for Valentine's Day! What's not to love about this holiday?! It's all about the love and happiness we have for the most special people in our lives. I so enjoy making fun and adorable gifts for this holiday!

The 'Romance' paper collection from Simple Stories is super charming and lovely with its pastel colors, floral bouquets, hearts and butterflies! The sentiments in this collection are sweet and endearing- perfect for a loved one! Even better when they come attached to a cute gift! I used my Silhouette Cameo and an SVGcuts file to make this super sweet flower candy holder and little mailbox!

The base for the flowers was cut out of the beautiful 'Romance' papers and wrapped around some floral foam. How perfect that there was a wood print in the collection! I used three different patterns for the flowers and topped them all with a yummy truffle! A chocolate kiss or even conversation hearts would be great too! Layered stickers and ephemera embellish the front and sides of the tiny flower garden.

The mailbox stands 7.5" tall and actually opens! The front is decorated with one of the 3x4 journal cards in the collection as well as some of the adorable stickers and 'bits & pieces'!. The hanging key is one of the lovely stickers and is attached to the lid with a chain. More stickers and 'Bits & Pieces' adorn the top and inside of the mailbox as well. I also added in lots of pretty sequins for shine!

You could stuff this mailbox with more sweet treats but I thought it was perfect to tuck in some love notes also made from the collection. There is plenty of room for lots of sweet notes for that special person in your life and the sentiments in this collection say all you want in the sweetest way!

Hugs For You!

Hi everyone! This is my first card of the new year and I am loving the color combo! This is for the first Color Throwdown Challenge of the year too! Such a beautiful, yet neutral color palette.

The ivory background was stamped in soft grey with various floral and leaf stamps. I also added in tiny pink blooms as well for a soft pop of color. Most of my sentiments are stamped in black so this big die-cut word in the light shade of ivory is a nice change!

I brought in the black challenge color with a pretty doily that peeks out under the sentiment. A few die cut flowers are scattered around and I finished it all off with a shiny gray bow and a few black gems!
