Banner and Borders!

Hi everyone! Another Make It Monday challenge from Papertrey Ink, another wonderful card creation! This week the challenge is to anchor your main focal design with a border die and a banner. I did use a border die in my design but I didn't like the banner, so I used a tag instead:)

I used one of my favorite color combos of red and turquoise and used some of the gorgeous papers from the 2014 Stamp-a-faire Ancient Rome collection. The border die I used is actually a snowflake but I thought it went really well with the renaissance frame. A tiny tag is covered with vellum to soften the Hawaiian Shores card stock and then stamped with a tiny wish and tied to the border!

The inside features a get well sentiment and a few coordinating images from the front of the card. I brought in red accents with a bit of vellum and some sparkly gems!

Monthly Mini:February!

Hi everyone! I'm back with the second installment of my monthly series of mini scrapbooks! The adorable collection I am showcasing today is from a few (many) years back and I totally had every intention of creating this mini the second I got this collection but then you know how it goes... and life just gets in the way! Better late than never and now this mini can really shine!

I love road trips and I know I am not alone. You can discover so many fascinating people and places along the way as well as really getting to know your travel mates! Todays scrapbook is in celebration of all of those long trips that we look back on with fond memories. This is the perfect place to keep all of those silly but great road trip pictures together with the funky memorabilia you collect along the way!

This 'Road Map' collection from October Afternoon features fun paper designs, super great journaling cards, word and shape stickers as well as cute rub-ons. I also added in more October Afternoon goodies from the Travel Girl collection along with some charming epoxy stickers from Oh Deer Me! The fun camera shaped photo album is from Clear Scraps and was a joy to decorate and embellish!

The car is loaded down and we're ready to go! A journal card and fun word and shape stickers adorn the inside cover!

There were so many cute journaling cards that I wanted to use them all! I created 'extra' pages for this album by adhering two cards together so there was no waste! This is the first journal card page.

Lots of layered goodies on this page!

Haha, the ever familiar question "Are we there yet"! I couldn't not put that in a road trip scrapbook!

Another cute journal card adorned with a fun tag I created using one of the many stickers in the collection.

The wooden frame is from Freckled Fawn and is ready for a zany road trip photo!

This page has a pocket complete with pull-out card perfect for a photo or funny story about the trip! I layered a couple of the shapes together to create this fun stoplight tag!

One of my favorite quotes! I was so delighted to see it in this collection!

Another 'extra' page and another fun ticket shape!

Last page of the album! More great layers  of shapes and stickers and a super cute rub-on of a VW bug! Hopefully warmer weather is heading your way and you can get out and create your own 'Road Trip' memories! I am off to sunny Mexico to escape the cold and snow here in Colorado! Check back next month for another adorable mini!

PTI Anniversary Cards!

Hi everyone! Here today with a couple of cards I created for the Papertrey Ink
8th anniversary celebration! They are having daily 'create' contests and lots of give-a-ways so I definitely needed to get in on those!

The first card is from the first day of contests and it uses a sketch recipe combined with a color recipe. I chose a bright color combo and was inspired by the sketch to create a happy card!

I combined a few stamp sets with die-cut flowers and a pretty frame to create a focal point. A nice sentiment and a few sequins were the finishing touches.

Another challenge was to 'build' a bouquet by combining floral stamps from two or more sets. This was an easy one since I love creating floral cards! I kept this card CAS by adding my bouquet to one corner and then only adding in a sentiment. Easy peasy but so stunning! Hopefully I will have time to create a few more cards for the contests but it is going to be a great anniversary release for Papertrey Ink!
