Always Fashionable!

Hi everyone! Papertrey Ink had a big anniversary sale a few weeks ago and I was lucky enough to pick up this 'Fashion Sense' stamp set that was part of the 2015 Stamp-a-Faire collection. I had always admired the set but wasn't taking part in SAF that year and didn't want the whole kit and caboodle.

With this pretty lady, I created a very simple one layer card using a few of the images from the set. I 'smooshed' three colors of distress ink for the main body of her dress and the flower backgrounds before stamping the outline images in black ink for a beautiful contrast. I just love how the distress ink reacted with water for that splotchy effect!

I added in some polka dots in a lighter blue and then had to go for the shine! Small silver paillettes from some Recollections glitter added cool texture and shine and then a few clear sequins added even more sparkle. I stayed with the blue tones for the sentiment and stamped it last over the whole image. So simple and pretty!

Jungle Baby!

Hi everyone! I have been wanting to do more coloring for the Daily Marker 30 Day Challenge but, as we all know, life sometimes gets in the way! I did find some time to create a couple of cards and this watercolor jungle scene is one of them! I was asked to make a jungle baby shower card and thought I would use the opportunity to enter the Color Throwdown #432 Challenge too!

My colors aren't quite what the inspiration pic shows but close enough! I stamped these adorable jungle animals in light colored distress inks and then watercolored them in some fun babyish shades. I also stamped lots of tropical leaves and gave them a wash of watercolor in bright greens!

Behind all of the layering, there is a comic book frame that I watercolored in a light red. I used some fun animal print papers in yellows and greens to fill in the blank areas. They were a bit bright so I softened them by covering them in vellum and you are still able to see all of the fun prints!

All of the watercolored pieces each have a little Wink of Stella glitter on them. My pictures don't quite pick up on that but in person the shimmer is so pretty and perfect for this baby card! I added in a super sweet baby sentiment as well as some tiny iridescent blue hearts. So adorable!

Hoppy Easter!

Hi everyone! March 1st is a perfect day to show this fun and colorful Easter card! Plus, the 30 Day Coloring Challenge starts today and this definitely fits the bill with Copics, ink blending and stamping!

This hopping bunny from the Sizzix 'Hoppy Easter' set is so adorable and I couldn't wait to get it stamped and on an action spring for some movement!  The sun background was inked through a die cut stencil before I stamped it with some cheery polka dots in the same color. I didn't want to cover up a lot of the background, so I embossed the sentiment onto vellum before adhering it to the front of the card.

Like I said before, the bunny is mounted on a wobble spring so he moves around in the cutest way. The sweet chick is mounted to the background and I mimicked movement by adding in hand drawn lines around the wings. I added some sparkle with bits of Wink of Stella and some sweet pastel colored flower gems. The shiny yellow bow and the background papers are the perfect Spring touch!
