Shamrock Blessings!

Hi everyone! Happy St. Patrick's Day! I will be drinking some green beer tonight- how about you?! Of course I had to make a card to commemorate this fun holiday and the new Color Throwdown Challenge  #434 colors and inspiration photo are just right too!

The stamp set I'm using is pretty old but it's the only shamrock and St. Patricks Day set I have. Fortunately, it's very cute and the sentiments are great!  I stayed true to the challenge colors, only adding in a white background so my gold polka dots would show better! I know the pictures don't do them justice but, after they were stenciled in gold ink I went over them with some sparkly gold Perfect Pearls and they do have a really nice sheen!

I cut the polka dot base into a fancier shape and mounted that onto some kelly green and black card stock. The center portion is raised a tiny bit and I embossed the sentiment in black onto vellum before wrapping it around. I also embossed the three sizes of shamrocks in gold and colored them in with green shades of Copic Markers! They are layered together in the corner along with some black and gold enamel dots which are also accenting the vellum portion. Be safe if you're out and about celebrating the holiday!

Easter Collage Card!

Hi everyone! I think Easter is all about pastels and I totally went with that theme for this sweet card! Plus, I love to layer elements on a card  for interesting depth!

There are a lot of design elements in this card but it came together fairly quickly! I started with an inked background using a small hexagon stencil. I had previously colored my Easter eggs and sentiment banner with Copic markers and so I just grabbed things I thought would look interesting layered together and began adding, subtracting and mixing them around. I ended up with part of a doily, a couple of fishtail flags and a strip of glittery gold tape!

After I adhered my basic elements down, I popped up the sentiment banner and the adorable check. I also added in some tiny flowers and tucked in a few sparkly clear sequins. Just a note- I had originally stamped everything in Memento Ink so I could use Copic markers but then went back over every image with clear embossing powder for extra shine! It makes the card extra happy!

Thinking Of You!

Hi everyone! I have a CAS card to share today for the new Color Throwdown Challenge #433! I say clean and simple but yet it took me 4 times to get the sentiment stamped and embossed onto the label, haha! The colors of the challenge were also simple this week and I stayed very true to them!

I have been wanting to use this Simon Says Stamp Emma Medallion since I got it over a month ago! Even though I only stamped a half of it, it is still very beautiful and big! I used VersaMark ink to stamp the image before embossing it in a very old, bright blue powder that will be retired after this. Can you see bright pink specks in there?  Oh well, you won't hear me complaining about doing some crafty shopping!

After the medallion was stamped and embossed, I added an edge of detail to my label strip and a large sentiment too. Again, let me say I did this 4 times- so much for CAS! However, the results are so pretty! I love the tone on tone and, keeping with the challenge scheme, I added in a few white enamel dots and mounted the whole thing onto a white card base.

The medallion is so shiny and gorgeous even though the embossing powder is old and the white really makes the colors pop!

Blooming Basket!

Hi everyone! Easter is getting closer and since I host dinner here, I always like to dress up my table with a handcrafted goodie or two! Plus, having little candy treats at the table is always a nice touch!

The Floral Picnic Basket from Spellbinders is the perfect size to tuck in a few treats and use as a place card! I cut this one from some pretty Spring plaid and then stuffed it with some adorable Paper Smooches blooms that have been colored with Copic markers!

I made this like a box card, adding strips of sturdy card stock to each flower and then adhering them to the bottom of the basket. I covered most of the card stock strips with the grass but they could also be a easily hidden with lots of jelly beans and chocolate bunnies!

I couldn't resist painting on some Stickles glitter for lots of shine and I added in one super cute puffy flower to a tiny tag! I stamped a simple Easter sentiment on the tag but it would be cute to add in your guests name.

Since I have quite a few guests coming for dinner, I will be making more of these adorable baskets. The whole project came together very quickly and they will make  my table look amazing and festive!
